Teags - I am so happy your lap went well and it is probably good news they found something so at least you have more of a reason your previous cycles didn't work. We do have to do another stim cycle, which although is obviously not good, I would prefer to ensure we have some great embies before going through another TWW. FS is putting me on melatonin and changing my mix of drugs, and doing PICSI on hubbies sperm which should pick out the best of the best. So maybe we might be cycling together if you can start jabbing in three weeks? I will start drugs by next weekend I think.

Kalliope - Welcome! We need more people in this thread! We are a quiet little bunch but very supportive so would love to have you here. Good luck with your transfer today - that is very exciting. Let us know how it goes, and hopefully you won't be joining us for long at all. How old is your daughter/son? Have you just moved to Australia?

Aunty - hope all is well with you as well! You'll have to check in and let us know when you will be cycling!

    take care lovely ladies!

Vesper – Hi hun how have you been going? Oh thanks for popping in to say hi! Sorry to see you are still cycling darl. I am sending you all the luck in the world for your next cycle.

Kitty – I haven’t heard of Melantonin. What is that for? What type of cycle and drugs will you be on this time? Sorry for all the questions, I am just really interested to know what everyone else is on and doing. If you are starting your drugs next weekend being the weekend of the 20th (is that right) then hopefully I will be a week behind you (I have my appointment on the 24th of BT’s and US). that would be very exciting to be cycling together and good to have the extra support too.

Kalliope – Welcome to the GC Thread! Good luck for your EPU I hope you got some beautiful eggs and they are now some beautiful embbies!!! Make sure you keep us posted. Do you mind me asking who you are seeing at CFC. I’m an ex-CFC patient who has just moved to Monash IVF. When we eventually do get our BFP I will be seeing an OB at John Flynn as I am a southside GC girl. I had a few issues with my FS which made me change. Good luck hun, I hope your stay here is short and sweet and you get your BFP this cycle. What date is your ET?

AFM – I have just booked in for my appointment for BT and US to see if my results are borderline and I can start jabbing without AF starting. Fingers crossed we are all good to go. I also just booked in for acupuncture with this apparently amazing acupuncturist in Currumbin on the beach, she also practices kinselogy and does TCM but I’m not sure about taking TCM with the drugs. I will speak with Dr O before taking anything. My appointment is next Monday. I’m prepping my body for our next cycle and giving this one everything we have got!

Kitty – my son is 16 months old and I moved home when I was pregnant so we’ve been back a year and a bit. I miss London and Europe (we were there over 5 years) but it’s nice to be back in the sunshine and near my family.

Your next cycle sounds promising, did they say why the melatonin? IIRC it can help egg quality, but I’m not really sure it that’s right or just me remembering something totally wrong

Teags – Dr Trueman was my OB for the birth of DS so I went with him, I didn’t really pick him since I was o/s mum made my appointment. Even if I change clinics, I will be going back to him as an OB, he’s ok OB wise - has the most abrasive manner but genuinely wants what’s best for you which means he doesn’t always do what you want which can be annoying but at least you know he will do what is best for bubs at all times. IMO he’s the pick of the bunch there – I’ve seen a couple of the others since and was not impressed.

Mind you I’m not at all happy with him for IVF, this cycle has been a nightmare and I don’t understand how it all went wrong. We only ended up with 5 from EPU and only 2 fertilised normally. He won’t normally do a 2 embryo transfer given my age but I swear if we are lucky enough to still have two at my 3 day report (Friday) I’ll be insisting he put two back on Sunday – I see no point risking one to freeze/thaw.

I hope your u/s and bloodwork lets you start cycling. We'll be looking at accupuncture next time so let us know how your appointment goes.

Kalliope - I have come to the conclusion that I like my FS to only be a FS and not be doing obstetrics as well. I just feel with my new FS, Dr Ong, who only does fertility treatment he has more time for us at appointments and its good to know that is his point of concentration. I haven’t heard anything about Trueman as a FS only as an OB. Hopefully you won’t need to do another cycle and you will get lucky this time around and the nightmare will have been worth it! Are you doing IVF for MFI? Or other issues? Just wondering if you used ICSI… Is he going to grow them to blasty and do a 5 day transfer? I really hope they keep growing strong for you and make it. Did you have to do IVF for you DS?

we ttc for 6 years before having DS - he wasn't an IVF baby though, he was concieved while waiting to start an IVF+ICSI cycle, even our doctors were shocked as I have annovulatory PCOS and DH had very low count although what was there was healthy and they had all told us there was no way we could concieve naturally.

DH has made loads of lifestyle changes - no longer drinks or smokes and a few other things SA is now back in the normal range so Dr said we didn't need ICSI this time round. We're growing to blast and aiming for a 5 day transfer... I'm just hoping we get at least one now but not feeling all that positive.

I've already started looking into Monash/Dr Ong - I'm pretty sure I won't do another full stim with CFC.

    Hi ladies

Kalliope - so glad your EPU went well although I am sorry there weren't more eggs. How are your two little embryos going? I transferred two embies last cycle which I was pleased about, at least you don't risk loosing the few you have in freezing/defrosting. But I must admit the thought of twins scared me silly 6 years is incredible to then get a natural miracle!! You must be one patient lady!! My DD was a natural miracle as well, it's incredible really and I actually get jealous of myself sometimes that I managed to be pregnant once upon a time!!

Teags - hope you are going well, have you managed to convince Dr O to start you on the melatonin? ha ha! you make me laugh

As for me, you were asking about the drugs etc, the melatonin is for egg quality, while mine is not necessarily bad, last cycle I only got 4 out of 7 eggs mature so that's what the melatonin is trying to fix. Also upping the drugs, to I think, 225 gonal F, and orangulatran but not sure what dosages yet. And maybe Lucrine but I am not sure about that either (I was on it last time, but just one dose prior to EPU). Need to call the clinic today and work on a plan.

Hope you are having a nice week! Good luck with those embies Kallopie - do you transfer tomorrow?

PS - Just wanted to also say Kalliope, that so far I have found monash to be fabulous. Very helpful clinic staff, easy to get appointments and in contact with FS, and of course wonderful specialists! I was most impressed that I was able to meet with my FS the day after my last cycle failed, where he discussed what protocol he was recommending and changing for next cycle. Hopefully you won't need to change clinics though!!

Kalliope – Wow 6 years! After all the time and effort it would have been amazing to get your miracle BFP. I have annovulatory PCOS and endo. That is good that your DH has been so good and made those lifestyle changes, my DH got an excellent SA so he thinks he can do what he wants. But I keep telling him that it can change and keep pushing the Menevit down his throat. Have you had an update on your embies? I hope they are growing strong for your ET this weekend. Keep us posted.

Kitty – I think we are going to be having very similar cycles hun! Hopefully we will get our BFP together too! How did the call with the FC go?

AFM - Dr O just called me to talk about the Melatonin. He said that its up to me if I want to take it because he does think we will be successful without it because my endo is gone and my cervical dilation was successful but if I feel that I would like to take it, he said that I can as its not going to harm me by taking it. Whoo hoo he said it does increase chances of pregnancy. Have you had yours made up? I will have to go get my script asap because he said you need to take it 2 weeks before your cycle. Oh I loveeee Dr O!

    Hey Teags!

Glad you got to talk to Dr O and he is okay about you taking it, I've just started mine the last few nights - all pretty straightforward, no side effects although I think it may have improved my sleeping a bit. Word of advice, make sure you call up first to order it over the phone, they need a couple of days to compound the order. I got my DH to go and pick it up, and when he got there the lady didn't realise I had already placed the order over the phone and sent him home without the script saying it would take another couple of days - when really it was just sitting there ready for me!!

Anyways, it would be great if we are doing similar cycles, I need someone to take my mind off the process
