    Hey Girls

Kristin - It’s so lovely to hear back from you – and with such great news! You must be so relieved that that part is all over with now, and now you can go on to ‘enjoy’ the rest of your pregnancy – fingers crossed you get an easy ride now! Good luck with your NT scan!

T & K – That’s great news that you guys have no more bleeding, I can’t imagine how stressful and confusing it must have all been. How is Kate feeling, has she got any symptoms? I hope you too also get to ‘enjoy’ from now on...Lots of luck on Wednesday, can’t wait to hear the good news!!

Calli – Loads of luck today! I hope you get ‘THE’ egg today, and you are not in too much pain! I think taking the week off after transfer sounds like a good idea, if you can get the time off. Catch up with your Mum and Dad and relax etc etc. We could even meet up if you fancied – just a thought to stop us going crazy! Well you rest up this afternoon and take care of yourself, let us know how you go!!

Hope everyone else is doing well, thinking of you all

    X

Calli - Well done!!!! No wonder you were feeling so full!! Have my fingers crossed for good fetilization results tomorrow - Let us know how you go!!

AFM - Had my lining scan, and lining looked great. However after talking with FS about our failed cycles, he thinks that I possibly might have an issue with my uterus or lining as he said we should be pregnant by now, especially as we fell on our first cycle, so maybe something has changed. So on Wednesday I am going in for a hysterscopy and D&C, catch 22 as I want everything to be ok, but I also would like an answer, so hoping that there is something there and it is easy to 'fix' if you know what I mean. At least there is no waiting!!

Hope everyone is doing well today!!

Yeah Calli - that is great you got 14 eggies!! Makes all the needles and process worthwhile when you get a good pick up like that. Fingers crossed things go well with the little guys this week and they make friends with DH's swimmers. Keep us updated on how things go. Hoping this is the round for you!!

Jen - That is great they are going to take a proper look and hopefully do something that makes a difference for your next transfer. So glad they could get you in so quickly too. Does that mean you will wait until next month for the frozen transfer given they will do a D&C? Am hoping for a quick fix too.

AFM - everyday that goes by without any bleeding is a good day. Tomorrow can't come fast enough though - we just need some reasurance that Kate's levels are increasing at a good rate. But I guess so far so good.

    Hi Ladies ,

Jen – That is good news about your D & C etc. I had the same thing done in February this year (and also in 2007) and it just gives you that peace of mind that there is no reason (ie; any obvious problem) why you should not be pregnant. And then it can be full steam ahead! I was going to say that I would love to catch up next week on my time off but think you may still be resting. I know I was a little sore and tender after the operation. Keep me posted though cause everyone is different. So when does that mean you would start another cycle?

T K – I am so glad to hear that you are both hanging in there. I have everything crossed for you both for a healthy problem free pregnancy. Please let us know as soon as you have the results from tomorrow’s BT . I have my fingers crossed for some lovely high levels. I will be thinking of you both.

Kristin – We were all concerned that things had not gone as you had planned. It is lovely to hear that things are going well for you and DH. Let’s hope that things continue that way and you have a hassle free pregnancy.

Hello to all the other lovely ladies out there.

AFM – I just heard from the embryologist at the clinic. She said that at this stage 8 out of 12 have fertilised. She wanted to book me in for ET on Saturday but unfortunately my FS, Dr Bopp is not on this weekend. She said that Dr O’Dowd would need to perform the transfer. I am not sure how I feel about that. I said to the embryologist that I was a little unsure and she said she will see what Dr Bopp says. What are your thoughts? Has anyone else had another doctor perform the ET? I am a little shocked that they would suggest for another doctor to perform the ET in circumstances where this is the important part! I understand the FS need time off but if they had told me this at the start then I would have waited another week to begin. Am I just being overly sensitive? She said if I really was concerned that they could do a day 4 transfer instead. When I questioned her about the difference between day 4 and day 5 transfer, she said that the day 5 means they can choose the strongest one. Please let me know what you think.

Calli - We have never been given the option of transferring earlier than day 5. Both rounds we have done a day 5 transfer and both times we only had the 1 embryo that made it to day 5 in a good state. So at least we knew the one being transferred was the best out of the lot and more likely to make it.

If it was me I would wait to day 5 and have my Dr do the transfer so long as there was no specific reason your Dr is suggesting you do a day 3 transfer instead. Did she say why Dr Bopp ordered a day 3 transfer? If there is a reason to do a day 3 transfer, I have met Dr O'Dowd in passing and I think Kate or Kristin go to him. A girl at my work also sees him and thinks he is great. They are all part of the QFG group so I believe they would all be just as good. But I do understand it is such an important time and you do develop a trusting relationship with your FS. Our FS is Dr Flynn at QFG.

I would just see if you can get your Dr to call you to confirm what day to do the transfer - and if he strongly recommends day 3 then I'd be ok with Dr O'Dowd doing it.

8 fetilised is great by the way!! Day 3 (Saturday) is where there may be a bit of a drop in numbers because from what I understand that's when the sperm and egg combine chromisomes and have to "get along". We were shocked the first round but a bit more prepared for it second time round. We have our fingers crossed you get a perfect one to transfer and a bundle through to the freezer too.

Let us know how you go...

TK – I think I may have confused you... My FS (Dr Bopp) wants us to do the transfer on day 5 (Saturday) but he is not available to perform the transfer himself, as he has the weekend off. Instead the embryologist suggested that Dr O’dowd (not my regular FS) would do it for me instead so it could still be done on day 5 (Saturday). When I said I was concerned about having a different doctor perform the ET, she said perhaps it could be done on day 4 instead so that Dr Bopp (my FS) could do it. Does that make more sense??

OMG Ha sorry, I was obviously trying to do too many things at once!!! Got that so wrong.

Hmmm I don't know what I would do. With us by day 4 there was always the one obvious head runner that was looking the best and that's the one they would transfer come day 5. But I guess if you have lots that look good that extra day would show which one is the best. Can you see how your numbers are looking come Friday morning and if there is one clear winner maybe just go in and transfer on Friday with your FS?

    Morning girls

T & K – Loads of luck today, can’t wait to hear how high your numbers are. DO you have to wait a while til you hear back from the clinic – hope the time flies by for you! Will be thinking of you both all day. Hope you are both feeling ok!

Calli – Well done with your fert results thats great news you must be chuffed, hope you get some more good numbers today! How scary are those phone calls, my heart always starts pounding as soon as I see they are calling, actually thats true for any call from them! As for your transfer I think you need to do what you feel is right deep down. Can you get a phone call with your FS and see what he says about doing a 4 day versus 5 day? I don’t really know if there is a big difference, and at the end of the day there are a lot of people who do get pregnant from 3 day transfers, where there clinic only do three day transfers. You need to be comfortable at the time of the transfer, and if having a different FS will make you uncomfortable then perhaps you shouldn’t do it, but that is up to you and your DH. Do you think if you were to meet the other FS beforehand that might make you feel better? Ahhh this is so frustrating, I am sorry that you have had an added stress thrown into the mix!

AFM – Waiting til I get to go into hospital, all is good though, although I have caught DH’s man flu haha!! Thanks so much for your thoughts ladies, am feeling really positive that we are doing the right thing. As for cycling after DH and I are tempted to do another fresh cycle instead of the frozen cycle, but will speak to FS and see what he thinks. However, I am pretty sure that I can start on my next period, so no long waits!!! Last time I had a similar procedure I didn’t get any results til the next day, so will let you all know how it went as soon as I know!

    Hi girlies,

Thought I'd jump on and say hello - so much is happening with you all.

Not much is happening at my end - except that I feel like I've been cursed...........seriously feeling pretty low at moment. I felt pretty bad after the miscarriage but then after a week or two people just expect you to be better, but you're really not - so I think I'm trying to act ok but not really feeling ok and it's taking it's toll.

So much other stuff is going on too - work is super busy, they keep restructuring stuff and then dumping all the extra work onto those of us still here and it's poo. I'm an auditor and normally just do audits on financial statements but since they made the guy who does our trust account audits redundant I had to do them this week. This involved me going out to real estate agents doing unannounced visits (in legislation we have to do 2 a year) and I'm just SOOOOOOOOOOOOO not ready to do that - lots of driving, lugging files around, negativity from clients - but I can't tell work that I don't want to do them ((

My DH is also being a big A-HOLE!!! He was meant to go to Melbourne the w/end after my miscarriage for a big punters w/end with all of his old mates from Sydney (he grew up there) but then obviously he couldn't - anyhoo he KEEPS going on about it and then this w/end after a lovely Friday night out at dinner where we actually talked about where we are at etc etc he was at the pub from midday Saturday and didn't get home till 3am Sunday morning. I had to drive him & his mates around and he's such a jerk when he's drunk - I was over it. It was my nieces 3rd birthday in Brissie on Sunday too and I asked him to be home at a sensible time so I didn't have a restless night. I've been feeling a bit fatigued/low/sick lately and just wanted to sleep but no - he got home at 3am (after a 1000 phone calls to me telling me he'd be home at 11, 12, 1 etc) and then he was a complete right off on Sunday. I'm still feeling the effects of the sleep deprivation now. I gave him the silent treatment all day - was too tired to have a go at him, plus he was super hung over which was punishment enough - but then he had a go at me for being Moody - arrrgghhh... He said it was his Melbourne trip and he's had a hard couple of months lately.

My thought was WTF - where is my Melbourne trip??? I'm the one that's body has been completely screwed up - operations, jabbing, pills, potions, hormonal changes, emotional changes, plus I've been studying part time (over now thank god), working full time, running a household and I haven't got anything in return.

I'm seriously so ****ed off with the world that I want to tell my DH and everyone else to p*ss off!

To top it off my sister-in-law had her 3rd baby last Monday. She found out she was pregnant after I found out I couldn't get pregnant naturally - so that has been rubbed in my face too

Oh well - I'm having Friday off - my poochie has to have an operation tomorrow so I'm looking after him on Friday! Hopefully it's cold and rainy so we can snuggle in our beds all day!!

Sorry for the rant girls - had to get it out - better on here than having a nervous breakdown or something!!
