Default Smallfry & bubblegum casting agencies

    Hello!
My son is currently with Smallfry and i know they use to be great as i was with them as a child and got numerous catalogue and commercial work.
I just havent heard from them for awhile and its been nearly a year ... He was offered heaps of stuff at the beginning but now is quiet.
Anyhow he has now been accepted in to Bubblegum casting and i was wondering if anyone knew either and what their experiences were???

    Thanks!!!

    Default Bubblegum Casting

Hi, I have the same questions. However, l can see there has not been any response to the question below. Re: Experiences with Bubblegum Casting.
I'm sure somebody would have some recent experiences with them.

We are with bubblegum have been for around 9 months. We have had no work.

I have followed it up a couple of times and they just say they are quiet. I have left it now. What a waste of money.

    Thanks for your reply Bluebutton,

Sorry to hear you haven't had any work yet. What age bracket was your child? Did your child get called up for a casting at least?

And have you tried any of the other agencies?

    Regards,
    Smochie.

    Hi Bluebutton,

Congratulations for getting at least two castings for your child. It is an achievement in itself.

Though you are right, the agency should have responded to your email. After all, you have paid them to find work for your child.

Let's just hope you get called for work soon since Christmas and holiday coming up.

    Smochie.

I was thinking about joining Bubblegum (my DD got accepted) because a friend's DD used to get lots of catalogue work with them, but hubby isn't keen on paying the joining fee ($285 I think, for babies) if it's only the odd $100 catalogue job now and then. He thinks that like adult's acting agencies, you shouldn't have to pay an annual fee, they should just get their profits from commissions. I think it'd be worth it for a TV commercial or something but yeah, not the bread and butter catalogue jobs.

Lovemylot: how old is your DS? What type of work did you get through them? Did you do the drama classes which they offer?

Sometimes it can take a while for them to return emails, if you don't hear anything follow up again with another email or call as they tend to be busy.
