My result was the same as yours - 1/37. My son does not have DS though. I opted for an amnio for peace of mind as I knew I couldn't spend the rest of the pregnancy stressing majorly about it.

this is exactly why i refused the test with all 4 of my children.
the stress is unnecessary. my dr told me of 3 women who had anmio's and lost their babies(100% healthy "perfect" babies) due to results of these tests. and yes 3 in however many thousands is not a lot but its 3 more than it had to be.

my sisters best friend was given a 1 in 9 of having a ds bub, had the amnio and her daughter didnt have it. and then ive heard of those that have a very low chance and have a ds bub. i seriously think this test is way off the mark.

i do hope you get results soon for peace of mind. goodluck

Thank for the support guys, and Fox in Sox I have been researching bringing up a DS bubba coz we'd not terminate.

On wed after work, I got my fullresults in the mail

    1:27 for 21
    1:108 for 15 and
    1:57 for 13

I was gutted and petrified, as far as I was concerned this was much worse. DS I could cope with, but just not so sure I could wait the 3 weeks for the amnio to find out about the others. So my doc booked me for a CVS on Thurs

    Petrified, Stressed and sore...BUT
As you all said, it'd be ok and it was.

We're expecting a normal and healthy baby boy.

I tell you what, if we go again, I'm seriously thinking of not doing this test. NOt worth the stress and 'life on hold' feeling I had for a while

    Thanks so much everyone..

I am so glad you got good news. Congratulations on your boy!
I really wish more people would research this test, as it has become practically routine, and as with most things the doctors don't exactly give you all the information to truly allow you to be informed.
It really is not an accurate test, and simply leads to further unnecessary testing, and a hell of a lot of stress on families.

Just found out were preggers again. Going to go through this all over. Is it likely (at 37) I'll be high risk again?
