Hi, we are planning to go there for a day with two other families, all of us have young kids from age 3 - 6 yrs. Just wanting to know what's there to do for the kiddies and where to eat?
Or is it better for us to take food?

They will love the bowling...all the little kids seem to.
You could take them in a stage coach - I took our son when he was about 9 months and he squealed and giggled and loved it.
There is a big cafeteria off to the side which is not "historically themed". It'd probably be the easiest place to take a bunch of kids. The New York Bakery and the other little restaurant would be a bit more of an expensive option.
They can also visit the school house and there are quite a few animals about the place.
Also, if you have enough adults to keep them from winding up in the water, maybe gold panning?
