    Default The MIL files (funnies)

    Hi all

I just had to create this thread. I actually was awake late last night thinking about it .

The MIL files. Those little snippets of useful (and not so useful) information, tidbits and generally unwanted opinions bestowed upon us by our wonderful MIL's

I'll go first. I don't see my MIL often (sorry) but every time I do see her she comes out with some gem. The last time I saw her we had a BBQ in the park for my DH's birthday. We had BBQ food, nibbles and softdrink, and I bought cordial and cold water for my DS (aged 5) and my DD (aged 1) to drink.
So we are sitting down to eat, and she is getting the kids drinks out of the esky.
And this is what she asks me "So, will H (DD) have coke?" Yep, and she was serious H is 1 year old. I said, "no, there is water and cordial in the esky" and she just rolled her eyes a little in my direction

I actually didn't LOL at her this time because I really am used to it with her, and no doubt next time I see her she will try and give my 1 year coke again! Silly old bat

So, do share your MIL's strange ways with us all! I need a good laugh today

My MIL is actually pretty good, but does tell me repeatedly that babies should be kept awake during the day so they sleep at night (only because she gets frustrated when she comes to vist and DS is asleep).

I say "well YOU can come over tonight and try to settle him when he's overtired then".

I love my MIL, she is great, but does do some funny things.

We were buying ham at the deli and the girl kind of folded the ham over when she was weighing it ... MIL told her to lay it flat, because it weighs more (and therefore costs more) folded over. OMG I tried to so hard not to laugh.

Later on we had dinner with my family and she told everyone how the deli try and rip people off. My bro still brings it up sometimes.

My MIL is a bundle of crazy but I do love her and get along with her!

She told DH 2 nights ago that to get me UTD we should BD 7 times a day during my fertile days... Lol

We went for lunch one time and her salad sandwich had heaps of shredded lettuce on it so she removed half of it wrapped it in a napkin and took it home to have it later

Driving to a jewelry party at my DH's Ex's house, she was driving along main road noticed a new housing estate being built and STOPPED the car in the centre lane in the middle of a round about to have a look!

I could go on.... And on and on!

I have LOTS of stories about my MIL driving me nuts but the only one that is kind of amusing is when we were planning to go to America a couple of years ago i was saying how hard i was trying to save enough spending money for the 4 week trip (i had 2 months to save)... Her brilliant idea was we would both buy lotto tickets during the week and with the winnings have plenty of spending money............................. um no.

    At Dd1s 2nd birthday:
"It's loads better to just smoke we*d at parties and not taking E, you'll remember more and look better in photos."
Then she offers a smoke to everyone. She was in no photos and not invited anymore to parties.
