    Hi 21andtrying!

I did a cycle with the injections a few years back, they were easy to use and i ovulated eventually, had to double the dose to get the follicle growing though, quite stubborn!! They are apparently quite good, the injections keep the lining of your uterus nice and thick, whereas clomid can thin it out a bit. I cant remember too much about the injections, i know i had to have them the same time every day in the evening. Then when the follicle was big enough we triggered the egg release with another different injection.

Now I'm on metformin and am going to give clomid a try!! Fingers crossed that i actually O!!

Good luck with the injections, are you on met too??

21 and trying- I am currently on my third cycle of Gonal F and IUI. The first cycle I o'd and we got pregnant, but it wasn't to be . The second cycle I got overstimulated (3x 21mm follicles) and our cycle was cancelled. Currently on number 3... CD 18. Have an ultrasound tomorrow to see what is happening follicle wise as my estrogen has just started spiking.
The Gonal F is easy to use. I was scared of it at first, but I found it better than clomid- (had done 2 previous clomid cycles). It allows fine adjustment, as it is so easy to get overstimulated with pcos. If you do the injection right it doesn't hurt. It just getting the courage up to 'jab' it in . If you have any specific questions I am happy to answer.

Good luck Kelly Mac!! Hoping this is your month

Good luck too Cinderella at the gyno. You have patience... I would have poas by now!

Thinking of all you ladies. Hoping for 1 or 2 follies tomorrow... please

Hi 21andtrying, Not necessarily. Depends on your FS and your bloods and all that jazz. Some FS's say that every woman with PCOS should be on Metformin, as it, in conjunction with ovulation induction (esp clomid) can improve your chance of ovulation. Not to mention its main function, to help with insulin resistance, and help prevent type 2 diabetes!!!! Def worth asking about!!! Not for everyone though i'm sure, plus some people cant handle the side effects (sometimes nausea, and lots and lots of diarrhoea... lucky for me i didn't get that!) My GP actually put me on it, not my FS... But my FS said it was the best thing they could have done to increase my chances. Here is a bit about it from the PCOS website, worth reading if you can stand the big medical words http://main.posaa.asn.au/files/PCOS%20Guide.pdf Page 7 has a lot on Metformin... Google pcos and metformin and you will have hours and hours of information!!

Ah my injections cycle... I had one cycle with my ex husband back when I was 23. Made me VERY moody (perhaps part of the reason he is my ex and we only did one cycle!!! ) But it worked, i ovulated, but had to double the dose cause my ovaries are stubborn BFN in the end, possible chemical pregnancy.

Now im taking provera to bring on AF, im starting clomid at 50mg a day for 5 days and then monitoring with ultrasound, bloods etc.
Have you tried clomid before or straight to injections??? Usually clomid is the first option, im kinda working backwards... HAHA

CinderElla, Good luck with your app tomorrow! Hopefully AF will be sorted out and you will get that BFP!!

1xbabyplease, Hi!! You mentioned injections were better than clomid for you? May I ask what the difference was for you?? Im terrified about starting clomid! Im afraid of nothing happening or too much!! HAHA

    Mam xo

Well I'm still waiting for my period to show. Haven't been game to test, but I don't think it will be much longer as I've had some all to familiar pain all morning. At least I know the clomid worked and I have a positive outlook for next cycle!!
    Wishing everyone much baby dust.

Just saw the gyno, she is sending me for blood tests to check my hormones and see if I'm o'ing and if I'm not she is gonna put me on clomid. She has also book me in for lap surgery in a year to check if my tubes are blocked. I'm so glad she is doing things about it, I quite like her.

Hi Mam I found that clomid did not work at all for me. It didn't increase my estrogen so I didn't ovulate, but I also was really really emotional on it- like i would cry in my sleep, and I also had hot flushes etc. Gonal F is the only thing that has worked so far to get me ovulating and I have had nil side effects. My FS said that it is hard to get clomid right for some people- like me- as I have 36 follicles on each side so it is difficult to get just one or two to mature and clomid does not allow for the micromanagement that fsh does. What dose clomid are you starting on? Don't worry too much about my experience because their are many women who get good results on it- im just not one of them.

CinderElla- im glad you like your gyno- why so long for a lap though?? could she not put you in for a quick hsg to check tubes?? cause if they are blocked all of the trying you put in for the next year would be a waste???

AFM- I had my ultrasound this morning... mixed news i guess. I had one 13mm but like 6 x 9mm and 8 x 6mm follicles. Im sooooo hoping that those smaller ones back off so I can get a try in. If all goes well then i woulld have iui on Monday.

1xbp she said there is a year wait for surgery, she said she prefers to do the laps rather than doing the other way. I guess I will try clomid then if it doesn't work I shall think about getting her to do the other way

    Hi Ladies

I would love to join thie thread.

Im 21 and was diagnosed with pcos in September of this year but had been self diagnosing for about a year.
When i had an ultrasound i only had 1 cycst but my hormones are not where they should be and im insulin resistant.

Me and my partner had been trying for about a year with no success which is when i realised something was wrong.

Over the last 2 years my periods went from regular to anything from 35-50 days with more like a discharge rather then a period.

But im now seeing a gyno who specialises in PCOS who sent me for tests and then to get a top up of the rubella shot which now means i have to wait 3 months.

She did however prescribe me provera 10mg to take for 7 days to bring on AF which did 8 days after taking the last pill.

So nows the big wait and was just hoping to start talking with people in the same situation & also wondering what others in a similiar situation got put on to help them and if it worked?

    Success stories would be great

Sorry for the rant and rave

    Baby dust to all
