Just a quick post as I have been a little off the radar lately! Holidays away and now back at work with zero time to do anything!

A big congrats to MrsPuMp! Yay! What a relief that it worked so quickly, now you can look forward to the exciting pregnancy journey! Very happy for you.

Looks like there will be a few of us on here injecting this cycle. I am 2 weeks into my injections, for those of you who are worried, it's understandable but you can totally handle it. I found after the 1st one I was fine. Sometimes you don't feel it at all, other times it's a little sting but really nothing compared to a bt, which I'm sure most of us are having regularly. I started on a dose of 75. One week in, nothing had happened so we upped 2 clicks to 92. I started to feel some twinges a couple of days after that. On Monday I had a scan and bt and I had 2 follies growing but only at 10 and 11mm. My levels had started to move though so they are hopeful that this will be it. I have a scan tomorrow to see if they are still growing, I am sooo nervous! There's much more invested in injectable cycles and I think my emotions are a bit more unsteady.

Good luck to all of you for your current cycle. Try to remember that each cycle is worth something, even if it doesn't work, as it gets you closer to the elusive BFP! That's what I keep telling myself!

    Default Going well

Miggins - with my first round of Clomid I too had absolutely no response - my body was too clever for the drugs to be effective. Our specialist said we had 2 options IUI or IVF. We chose to go down the path of IUI and I'm currently in my first cycle of that. The specialist told us as there was no change in the use of clomid going to a higher dosage was a waste of time and cost (of course each case is individual) but his reasoning was that there was no change in my follies throughout the use of them so it was pointless. Having gone on the IUI with gonal-f pen using daily FSH injections of 75; I'm glad we did. I was disappointed as well and couldn't believe I'm part of the 20% that had no reaction to it; but didn't want to waste anymore time and have moved on to the next step.

Violethope - I was wondering about you just yesterday and how things are going in your journey. I had by BT yesterday and the results are good - things are moving in the right direction. Have another blood test on Friday to see where things are at. that yours keeping going the right way as well. Keep me posted - it's good to have someone who is at a very similar stage to share the story with.

Good luck to everyone who is going through the same journeys we are all sharing - here's hoping that happy stories continue to grow.

Thanks for your support. I too am starting on 75 dosage, so fingers crossed
The FS didn't really explain that there's 20% of people that clomid won't work for - guess I must be one of them too!

That's kind of his reasoning for not persisting with higher doses of clomid for me to, because it had absolutely no effect at 50mg - I guess he would of expected even a small change if it was going to work at all.

I do my first injection tonight !!!! excited and nervous all in one!

Thanks Mrs JD. I hope that you get a good result on Friday. It is nice to be traveling along with someone else! I'll let you know how things go.

Miggins - Good luck!!! The injection will be scary but you'll feel really good when it's done. Try not to be too hesitant when putting the needle in, I find that if you do it quickly you feel it less. But inject the meds slowly.

Hi all - hope your all going well, been a busy little forum since I was here yesterday!! :-D

Miggins, getting the pen from the FS will depend on who you see and which Chemists they use. I am with QFG and my FS just kept it in a fridge in his office and he said that the puregon pen is hard to come by so to fill the script at my next appointment that we attend at the chemist in the Watkins medical centre. I am only on puregon 50 - I was interested in what you said about the clomid and having no response. I did have a response to it but I was on 100 and FS said my follies were still too small. are you on puregon or gonal-f???? Some forums I read say puregon is better and some say the gonal-f is better, they are both the same ingredients basically and should have a very similar effect. How did you go with your first injection? I have had no issues at all and Violethope is correct - blood tests are worse, although I dont even find them too bad - good veins lol just a shame about my ovaries lol

A few questions for you ladies, I have been feeling twinges in the O area and feel quite bloated (no noticeable swelling). I am on puregon for 7 days and my appt with my FS is on monday. Is it possible to ovulate before then if I get good growth? Should we be dtd heaps just in case I do? Just like the clomid I have had no noticeable side effects and tomorrow will be shot # 4. Is it perhaps not working? Have any of you that took the puregon had side effects?

Violethope - I had no decent follies at my first FS appt - just the polycystic ones - then after clomid days 2-6 had two approx 11mm on cd 12 and straight away onto injectables. I am just wondering if I should have waited because clomid can make you ovulate late and my follies may have grown on their own, what do you think? I am also on the injections for 7 days before my next ultrasound - your monitoring is much more frequent than mine and I am wondering if I should ask for more. Also- Good luck with your scan tomorrow too. for lots of growth.

AFM (what does it stand for?) - I am off to the FS monday for bloods and us so for some growth too - then lots of dtd

Good luck to all of you ladies, Clomid, IUI, IVF, whereever you are at this point coming your way - xo

I'm on gonal-f (starting dose of 75) and because we're not doing IUI (at least for now), then the FS can't give it to us, so we have to get it off prescription.

My first injection was last night and I thought I would be fine, that I could do it myself, when it actually came time to 'stick' myself (with DH eagerly watching on)... I just couldn't bring myself to do it!!! I tried a few times but every time I looked down and saw the needle getting close to my skin, I freaked out and got myself all worked up. I'm such a girl . In the end DH had to do it for me (while I looked away - didn't hurt after all maybe I'll do it myself tonight.

I do have a question for anyone using FSH injections...????
Did anyone have any spotting when they first started using the injections??

I did my first injection last night (well DH did), and this morning when I went to the loo and wiped, I noticed a bit of brownish/pinkish tint in my CM. I'm not sure if this would be caused by the gonal-f last night or if AF might be on her way??? because today would actually be CD29 of the Clomid cycle (which supposedly didn't work) - and normally when not on any medication, I just don't O, my last cycle (before the clomid) only ended because I took Provera, and it was up to CD107 or something like that.

Do I just keep doing the gonal-f??? and wait and see if I get AF? Will AF still come if I'm using gonal-f? or is this just a side effect of the injections??

I'm confused is it possible that I did have a sneaky O on clomid that because of timing got missed in blood tests (BT on 20/7 had Progesterone of 1) and got missed in the scan the FS did on Monday 25/7??

    any help appreciated ladies..

Hello to all you wonderful ladies!!!
I had my FS appointment today..
Funny story - as it was during my work day I made sure I "freshened up" expecting him to do an internal US... DH and I get there, he didn't do a US as had done one on me previously but my poor hubby had to do a drop and grope!!!!!!! Sooo funny as he wasn't expecting it!!!! I felt jipped coz I shaved my legs for him and all!!! Lol!!!

Anyways he has started me on clomid (yayyyyyyyy) but he is not starting me on provera, instead just a blood test to make sure I'm not preg.. I thought this was a bit odd but I guess he knows best!!!
I'm on 25mg on days 2-6...for first cycle, if that doesn't work then 50mg for next cycle & I don't go back to see him for 10 weeks!!!!! Very unmonitored... So I apologize in advance if I ask lots of questions :/

Good luck to all in the TWW!!!

    Hi Teetee,

I suppose it depends on whether your cycle starts by itself. My cycles are as erratic as anything, so I had a blood test to make sure I wasn't pregnant and then they started me on Provera. If we'd waited for it to start itself we could be waiting six months or more. Do your cycles start by themselves, usually?

I've never heard of a dose as low as 25mg. I guess that's a good sign for what your FS thinks will work for you?

As for the US, I didn't have one up front either. I did have a day 10-14 US on day 13 of my 50mg Clomid cycle, and a Day 21 Progesterone test, but no US upfront.

And my fiance had to have an SA as well, but he had to make an appointment for that one. Might have been better if it was unexpected, no stressy buildup!

    Good luck with this cycle!
