    Hi girls,

Sammy & Lissa and any other girls with bfp's: I haven't logged in for a while but I wanted to a big Congratulations to Sammy and Lissa for their bfp's. I know it's been a long road for you girls. Hope you enjoy the pregnancy and finally having the baby you have dreamt of for all these years.

To all the girls: just wanted to say good luck and hang in there. There are a lot of ups and downs but you will get there in the end. I finally got my bfp after 3 rounds of IUI then IVF. I developed OHSS and ended up in hospital for 2 weeks and completed my recovery at home for the next 4 weeks then got bad MS everyday and had a really bad bleeding scare which took me to the emergency room a couple times BUT I and am now 7 months pregnant. It wasn't easy but I would go thru it all again if I had to. It was and still is a shock that I'm pregnant and I am grateful everyday for my little blessing.

Please girls remember that it WILL happen for you all, it just takes us Pcos girls a bit longer to get there but after all that it is soooooooooooo worth it.

I hope that gives anyone out there a bit of hope just like it did for me when I was struggling trying to get pregnant and reading other peoples success stories.

Lots of hugs and to you all xxx

Violet - I did 3 cycles of clomid 1 at 50mg, 100mg and then 150mg and none of them did anything to me. The new FS that I went to see explained it to me the best. He said that clomid works by sending a message to the brain which then sends a message to your ovaries to do their thing. He said there was obviously a communication breakdown between my brain and my ovaries which caused it not to work. So that's when I went onto the FSH injections..... basically they work by sending the message straight to your ovaries and I got my BFP on the first cycle. Don't lose hope clomid is not your only option and there are definitely other options before you get to IVF.

Aw thanks MrsPuMp, your support means a lot. Just what I needed to hear.

Sammy, thank you! You just filled me with hope! I knew Clomid wasn't my only option but I feel like everyone I talk to who has used it had success and I don't get why it doesn't work for me. That explanation makes perfect sense.

Sorry to be a big whinger, I will be strong and move to the next step with hope.

I think the thread is due for some good news, hopefully it happens for some of you ladies very soon!

ssssoooooo i had my appointment today and SUCCESS she looked at my bloot tests and prescribed me provera and serophene. said i have LOTS of testosterone and my lh hormone is much higher then my fsh. funny as i am quite petite and girly but i love my sport so mayb thats where the testosterone comes into play
so i have to call tomorrow to see what my laters bt comes back with and if it still shows no change then i start the provera.

i feel like i finally have a starting point and some direction. thanks to all you girls for keeping me so informed of the process i really appreciate it.

hubby also has to go get his swimmers checked just incase and he wasnt to happy about that more embarrased then anything i think. i mean if thats the worst hes gota do then hes got it pretty good considering what alot of women have to go thru.

Out of curiosity, how strict is everyone with diet when TTC? I am a healthy weight but my usual diet is pretty terrible, I'm a sugar junkie, while DH loves both sugar and caffeine (which is apparently not great for sperm!). I've quit chocolate and anything else with caffeine, and DH has quit caffeine (much to his despair). I think I must be on a sugar high most of the time because I was asked at work if anything was wrong as I wasn't my usual happy self

Elly - I *should* be stricter, but the lure of chocolate just seems to take over and control me! Unfortunately I need to lose a few kgs, but nothing seems to work. (I'm also on metformin.) I've decided to go back swimming to see if that helps. I had quit alcohol and caffeine since Feb - although on our 2-week trip up north, I completely caved and ate and drank so much that I shouldn't have.

MrsPump - congrats on the great bloodwork!

    Hi everyone!

Ladydee - it's been a while between posts, how is everything going with you? I hope that you're doing well.

Violethope - we're all here to support you, so feel free to vent any time you need to. It's a stressful time and I found it helped me so much to have support and someone to listen when I needed it. Will they try a higher dose of clomid for you or move you onto plan b?

MrsPuMp - how did you go with your results today? It's great to hear you were able to make some progress and some options have been given to you! It is confronting for our dhs and dps to have their swimmers checked, but as my gyno said, only half of fertility problems are caused by the female. and if there's something wrong with the male and the female, there's no point just giving us clomid, because that only solves half of the equation.

Ellymoe - I tried to keep a balanced diet. I love baking and have a sweet tooth, so didn't deprive myself those sorts of treats. My acupuncturist said there was nothing at all wrong with having one coffee a day, because ultimately that won't make any difference between things happening or not happening. But I did try to make sure I ate lots of fresh foods, fruits and vegetables, to balance out the treats.

Sammy - great to hear that all is going well other than the ms. I did buy up the duff, it's still in my car so just have to remember to grab it so I can start reading! Thanks for the hint on the green cordial too - I had gastro the other day and lived off green cordial until I had the strength to drive to the shop to get some powerade. Green cordial is the best!

AFM - had my dating scan today. Traumatic experience, the lady was horrible and I left just about in tears. Bubs is in the right place, but I'm a week less than we thought, so only 5w 2d, which means I didn't get to see a heartbeat. She recommended going back in 10 or so days to get another scan, but we're going away and I won't be going back to that place ever again! My OB uses his own specialist for u/s so will leave it until my 12 week scan with him, unless I have any problems before then.

Keeping and everything else crossed that you lovely ladies get some good news this month, thinking of you all.

Susyd!I’ve often wondered how you were doing. OMG....belated CONGRATULATIONS!!! 7 Months?! It only seems like a month or two ago that we were cycle-twinies, stressing it out in the TWW. I’m not sure if you’ve been stalking here or there but I tried 4 cycles of Clomid (found I was resistant) and I’m on my second cycle of IUI with FSH injections. Think I’m going to try one more cycle of this if this one doesn’t work then it’s onto IVF for me. So...your my inspiration now as you seem to have followed the same sort-of path and here you are, just a mere few weeks away from having your very own bub! That’s awesome.

Violet – I tried 4 cycles of Clomid, and I grew a 17mm follie which showed on my cycle-day 12 U/S on my first cycle and then I didn’t O on the following 3 cycles, even after going up in mg’s. My FS said that he really doesn’t think that the Clomid made me grow that big follie in my first Clomid round and that he thought it was my own body fluke-ing-it on it’s own. He said I was “Clomid resistant” so, I moved onto FSH injections with Inter-Uterine-Insemination (IUI). No success with my first round although I think I wasn’t quite on the correct dose and well....as you know, I’m in my TWW of my second cycle so we’ll see how that goes??? I’m cruising through this latest cycle so well that I even asked my FS that if we don’t catch the eggie on this cycle, can I do another one before moving onto IVF. I was supposed to only do two before IVF but, I really find that I get zero side effects from the FSH injections compared to the Clomid that I wish I had just started straight on the FSH and bypassed Clomid altogether. I just always felt uptight and well.....kind-of p***ed of all the time on Clomid and really frustrated, stressed and impatient with everyone and everything. Really didn’t sit well with me at all. Maybe it was just because it wasn’t the correct drug for me and my particular hormone imbalances......who knows? I haven’t got my BFP yet but, I’d recommend the FSH to anyone so please don’t lose hope!

Purple Tulip – How are you cruising along in your TWW?

Elly – So, your a Clomid baby right here amongst us! If that isn’t inspiration for everyone on Clomid right now, I don’t know what is! According to books and most articles I’ve read on PCOS, they all say that our diet does make a difference to our fertility but, even though I’ve made some pretty big changes since being diagnosed, I’m yet to get my own magic BFP so, who knows? I went to a Fertility Naturopath for 7 months before trying drugs and I ate everything they told me to eat and took tones and tones of vitamins and also drunk this awefull tasting herb-drink everyday that they made-up specially for my particular hormone imbalances and.......nada, nothing, zilch. One thing I do believe though is that what we feed our bodies now will impact on how healthy our eggs and future babies will be, but.....that’s just my two cents worth. All within balance though really....a bit of choc-y here or there shouldn't do to much you wouldn't think? My DH’s sperm count was never that bad but it has improved quite noticibly since cutting back on the beer.

Mrs Pump – Awesome about your pro-active gyno! That article that I forwarded to you “PCOS – A starting point” describes exactly how high LH leads to high Testosterone in the “Figure 3” pic if your interested. All the best of luck with getting these drugs to kick-start your ovaries into action! My FS is a OB also so I’ll probably stick with him and he only delivers at one private hospital so, I guess that’s all decided for me. I’m going private.

Waiting – Great to see everything is going good. Has it sunk in fully yet?! Keep us up-to-date

Windupbird – 16 weeks! That seems to be going sooo fast!!! Or, does it feel like it’s dragging-out for you? Awww... I bet you have the most adorable baby-bump now. Are you thinking boy or girl? My sister’s belly has just all of a sudden popped out which I’ve only seen pictures of but she’s coming up from Newcastle soon so I can’t wait to catch-up properly with her. She reckons she’ll find out the sex but that her and her DH will keep the results to themselves.....I’m already planning how I could try and trick it out of my BIL. lol

Sammy – That’s a great heart beat! Aww... I bet your DH was super thrilled to see bub....it’d have to feel more real for him now too. This second IUI of mine was great actually....I usually talk a lot when I’m nervous and I just yak-yak-yacked my way through the entire procedure and before I knew it, it was over! I am a lot happier with my E2, follicle-size and lining results this time around......who knows if it will work this time but, I definitely feel like I’m getting closer to that elusive BFP.

Zammy – I’ve been wondering how your going! Great to read things are moving along for you and all the best for your CD21 Progesterone results.

AFM – Crazy-busy at work this week....always is a bit of a catch-up-time after these long weekends. Great for my TWW though. I don’t get to test until Friday 24th which will be 14 DPO for me so my FS said not to get worried if my HCG comes back low-ish. They didn’t mention anything like that to me after my last IUI so, hopefully that means he’s a bit more hopefull this cycle might work?! No real symptoms yet though, which I guess in-itself is different to my last cycle which turned into a BFN and which I was getting ALL of the pregnant symptoms. Bah, who knows? Feels quite weird to be going through my very first TWW not temping!
