    'The smorning'. No, I .... wait, I can't. It can't be. What???

I just came in here to post that I saw this today ... 'want' with an apostrophe - yep - "wan't". But 'the smorning' has knocked me for six.

Mezmerised: do you realise that your username is the incorrect spelling of the word "mesmerised"? (or do you have a particularly good/significant reason why you misspelled the word?)

Although I'm only laughing because you said it was a school kid's story - I'm truly hoping you're an early childhood teacher, not highschool!

My 5 year old DD is starting to read, and saw her cousin's surname written and asked me if it was "Thompson" - with a soft "th" sounds (as in there or that). Sometimes our written language can be very hard to explain.... "th" sounds like (soft sound)... except when it doesn't!! Maybe there's something to all this phonetic incorrect spelling?
