This thread is funny - I find myself driven to the point of distraction when people mispell words. My pet hates are:
pacifically instead of specifically.
Although I have to admit I laughed when my husband came home the other night and told me he overheard someone on the train say "not nessa celery"!
Nothing wrong with being a pedant!
But the town was reduced by one tenth
HAAH!"not nessa celery"!
Oh come now, you meant 'anal' didn't you.Well, in that case your point was even more pedantic than mine
This has turned a little bit into things people say rather than spelling and grammar (equally annoying) but I'm going to get back to a spelling one that ALWAYS annoys me:
wierd instead of weird.
Can you help me with something that has puzzled me?
It may be simple but it has escaped my mind
Which is correct:
"Jim & Myselfs day out tomorrow"
"Jim & Mines day out tomorrow"
or if neither are correct? What is
saying the first (which i thought was correct) sounds...... wrong.
Okay, so the plural goes on the first person....
