My BIGGEST all time grammar hate is using 'me' instead of 'my'.

    I HATE IT!!!

    Where's me shoes?

    MY SHOES!!!

I've been guilty of typing that, but it's completely unintentional! It just happens. I don't speak like that, but for some reason, when typing, my finger hits the 'e' instead of the 'y'. I'll notice it when reading my post and cringe.

I hope this thread isn't starting to offend anyone, that's certainly not the intention

I think, for people who are not obsessed with spelling and grammar, it's hard to understand where we're coming from. It's not like I'd look at a post with mistakes in it and laugh at or judge the poster, it's just more that I can see the mistakes and I just can't not notice them. It's like a fly in the room or something, you can't ignore it. I can still read a post with mistakes and completely respect the poster and all their views, I just sometimes have the urge to take to it with a red pen!

This thread is for people who, like me, have grammar obsession issues and need a place to complain about it so we can get it out of our system and be less distracted elsewhere That first one about he's/his has been driving me mad for a loooong time, I've said it now, so I can let it go

I have another one too, about full stops:

When you use a full stop or any other punctuation (like ,.: the punctuation goes next to the last word, and then you leave a space.

    For example:

Mary has a dog. His name is Marty. = correct.
Mary has a dog, his name is Marty. = correct.

Mary has a dog . His name is Marty. = incorrect (extra space after 'dog').
Mary has a dog.His name is Marty. = incorrect (need a space before 'His').

Sorry don't have time to go through all the posts but I will later this evening

One that bugs me is SENCE instead of SENSE

There is no such word as SENCE

My DH has a master's; it appears to have absolutely no bearing on his ability to spell. He once sent a card to my mother signed "Best whishes". I have never let him live it down .

Ahahaha - isn't it funny? I get emails from him like `Get of the computor' (he thinks I'm addicted to BH ..... don't know why ..... ) and I think to myself `Yeah, you are the one with the Honours degree in Philosophy and Politics and the degree of Dramatic Art'?????
