    Default Drooling 6 week old?!

My baby will be 6 weeks old on Monday, and the past few days I've noticed him drooling :confussed:
Its not non stop but still, I don't remember my other boys doing this so early?!
Surely he wouldn't be starting To teethe already right? My other boys didn't pop a tooth out till about 5-6 months old.
So is this "normal" for a 6 weeker?

Teeth, probably. They can start to teethe well before any actually show up. Mine both started super early and got early teeth, too.

Mine's a bit older (nearly 4 months) but she is drooling and chomping on everything as well. Hopefully no teeth for a while yet

It could be teeth, but it could just be normal. Babies don't really 'get' that they should swallow their saliva, so it pools in their mouth and dribbles out.

DD was drooling perfusly(sp) at about that age, 2months later and is still like that, chewing on anything and everything she can get her hands on, just waiting for the teeth to come threw, DS was an early teether aswell

Ds was like your boy. Drooling ALL THE TIME!!!
It was a combination of teeth moving around under the gums, and a really strong tongue thrust reflex which prevented him from closing his mouth and swallowing.
I got him a teething necklace which helped. It didn't stop it completely but made it much better.

    Thanks girls!
Tamara, what's this strong tongue thrust reflex?
My baby has his tongue between his gums a lot of the time, poking out slightly, is that what you mean?
