Default 2 year old with runny poo

For nearly 2 weeks on and off my daughter has had runny poo, the past 2 days she has had a very sore red bum and screams when I wipe with loo paper so I use wet flannels but she not so fussed on that either. I either put nappy rash cream or baby powder on it to help her. I went to the chemist today and asked for something to make her poo more solid, the first one i went to told me to go to dr as they had nothing for under6. The second chemist told me there was no medicine for under 8s and to give her lots of fruit..... Well I have a drs appointment made for tomorrow and have just been googling what I can give her to solid it up, and first thing I read is that fruit /juice will make it softer, am confused about the advice I got from a chemist now, as I would have thought that they would know better
Does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks

Bananas will slow things down. Try a baby wipe for wiping and nappy rash cream pretty regularily. Definately go to the doctor.

Hope you LO feels better soon.

When my youngest DD has a bad rash on her bum I find an extra bath/shower during the day really helps her comfort levels. I use flannels with warm water but they just don't clean as well as a dunk in the bath or shower. I apply bepanthen and then vaseline over the top of that (she is still in nappies.)

Not sure on firming up the poo, I have read when they are getting over gastro/upset tums to introduce carbs like plain pasta and bread etc.

    Def no fruit.
    Try less dairy.
    Lots of water.
    Plain foods.
And maybe get her bottomless out in the sun to clear up her redness.
Go to the doc if you're worried.

Sorry just dot point I'm on my phone!
