    Default Confusing results (please help)

Hi, I'm posting for my 19 year old cousin. She is on the pill, she just got back from visiting her boyfriend in Canberra for a month, while there the first week she was unwell ( got a bit worried and went to the doc they did a test but was negative) still feeling sick now that she is home she went to the doc today and did another test it was negative while she was there. She then got a call 45 mins later to come back in, he had told her he left it for a bit longer and now it is positive, she had a bloodtest, then called me balling her eyes out. I told her to come over ( age doesn't hav a licence so her friend was bringing her and I couldn't go the as my car is stuffed) she is scared to tell her parents they r pretty strict. I told her to get a test from the chemist and she did it here and it came out negative.. I said don't freak out just wait till u get the blood results..... What do u guys think of this? Having a delayed positive at the docs then a negative at home? Has anyone had this?
    Thankyou for your help

I know several people who couldn't get positive home pregnancy tests until about 12 weeks but a blood test picked up their pregnancies much earlier. I'm not exactly sure why this happens though.

Until she gets her bloods back, just do your best to keep her calm.

Did they say when the results would be back ?

The results are most likely Wednesday but she will try and go in tomorrow after work. No she hasn't missed a period, just feeling sick, she was worried coz she's only just started having sex and taking the pill a few months ago and she thought she stuffed up somewhere in December on the pill.
I'm just really confused as "'they" tell people not to look at the results after a certain time, but the doctor who did the test did just that? Are tests at the doctors different??

I just told her that I am here for her, and if she wants me to I will be with her when she tells my aunty and uncle,.. I also told her it's not the end of the world (it may seem like it now but there isn't a magic medicine for it to go away)and she has options and she will be supported no matter what she decides
I feel so bad for her...
But I'm really thinking it must b a false positive. What do you guys think?

the test kits usually state the results are only valid between 5-10 mins or something like that. the one the Dr used would be the same. She'll have to wait for the BT.
