Wow thanks girls for all your feedback! Dr Gil burton was going to be away from about 7th till 15th of may. I'm due mid may but it was abit too close for my liking. I have booked at NSP and meet dr Paul fowler on Tuesday for a 8week scan. I just found out that his office doesn't have midwifes so I hope that I click with him otherwise I might keep looking around and try call some of your recommendations. I feel so more relaxed now that the hospital and appointment with doc is booked in. I'm going to Bali next Thursday for a wedding so wanted to have it sorted before we go. Ill let you know how it goes with dr Paul fowler. Again thank you for all the feedback xx

My SIL has had Dr Boyce for her first 2 babies. She loves him. He's quite old I believe & she has issues which require her to only deliver via c-section. She's quite an anxious person & he manages her & her stressing quite well.

Ive had my 2 with Alastair Morris, which I've loved. Primarily I chose him for cost & the fact he's a staff specialist at RNS (the midwives handle all the straight forward pregnancy & he deals with the complicated ones) so private work is his "hobby". I loved the comfort that if anything were to go wrong before 32 weeks I could deliver at RNS with the NICU & my own ob. I couldn't imagine going through that stress without my ob by my side. Alastairs also quite young which I really like cos we want to have a few & I've got some other Gynae issues so I want someone who'll be with me for a few years ahead!
I really like that he also does an 8 week appointment with pre nuchal counseling & an intro to him. I think too many of us forget the real reason for our scans & he just did a good job giving us all the facts so we could be prepared. A few of my friends could not see their Obs until they new the pregnancy was "a goer"!

I really wanted to try for natural deliveries & ran some plans by him. Some of the things he didn't really believe in but supported me giving them ago...even writing letters for my health fund & low & behold the biggest woss delivered two posterior bubs with only gas!
His secretary is fabulous & she does a good job of filling on the time as he often runs late, the flip side of that is I've spent a lot of time in his rooms & never seen him look at his watch or rush me. When I'm in that room, my baby & I are the most important things in the world. I couldn't imagine better care.

I've booked in for NSP. The hospital is beautiful! I wanted to go with dr burton but he was $7000! I couldn't at that much do we went with dr Paul fowler. I'm currently 16wks pregnant and I have found that choosing the ob is the most stress full thing! How do u know what someone is like before u meet them?! Lucky for us we really like our dr. He is layed back and relaxed, easy to talk to and I can ask a million questions and not feel stupid about it. He is based out of NSP and has and office in manly which makes its easy for us. Hope this helps

I don't have experience with them as I ended up going public. .. but I rang dr Burtons office when I was 5 weeks pregnant. ... and they were already full for the time I was due so just a word of warning to get in fast with whoever you decide

Dr Burton is fantastic, highly recommend. As mentioned I would book in ASAP (today) with whoever you choose. Depending how far along you are you may find some are already booked so may help you make a decision.

Default Choosing an OBGYN - NSP or Mater

I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I'm seeing Dr Tan based on recommendations I've read on here.

Dr Tan is very approachable, friendly, answers any questions and has been available to me on email for any questions and has always responded promptly (within 1-2) hours.

I sometimes feel his appointment are very quick but in all honesty it's my first bub so I don't know what to expect. He does a scan at every appointment which is so reassuring.

He supports my decision for a natural labour which is important to me.

Are you sure Dr Burton doesn't deliver at the Mater? He is still on the Mater website as a Dr that delivers there. His office is based in NSP though.

The Mater was fantastic, I didn't want to leave. I hope he still delivers there, for when we have a second.
