Default Son constantly holding his penis

My son is 6yrs old and is uncircumsized. for the past 6 months he always seems to be holding his penis as though he is needing to go for a wee! When I ask him he says he doesn't and that its just a bit itchy / or sometimes he will say that it is sticky. He just told me that it is just itchy inside the skin bit and that 'dad gets it' - as in dad understands what he is talking about.

I worry as I have an adult friend that is always 'pinching' his penis in public (and non-public) areas. I think it is embarrassing and I don't even think he knows he is doing it!

I also worry a great deal that there is something wrong - although I have had it checked out.

Does anybody have a similiar experience and perhaps some insight?

    Much appreciated!

circumsized boys (and men) do it too.

DS (also uncirc) goes through stages where he grabs at it more than others.

I agree. My boys are both circ'd and so is their father and they all grab themselves. It's so annoying. I tell them to do it in private. But if it hurts I would get it checked out or have him wash it again. My brothers who are both uncirc'd also used to do it a lot. Does he wear undies? Maybe it's friction? I let my boys go without undies at home but at school they have to wear them.
My boys wont let me see them naked though so I would never get to look if anything was going on. I'd have to drag them to a male Dr.
Does your DH shower with him and show him how to wash and dry?

My boys started it at about 6 months and none of them have stopped it, and based on their father, are not likely to

Thank god we women dont go around with our hands all over our breasts or down our pants all day!

Sounds like a pretty normal little boy to me - all men grab their bits they just cant help themselves

I would just ignore it, sometimes they do it out of habit or as a nervous reaction I only say this as last year my son starting blinking all the time, we had his eyes tested (as he was really really blinking a lot). We incidently had an appointment with our pead and I raised it with her, she looked at him and said it was a nervous twitch and best thing for us to do was ignore it as the more it is acknowleged the longer it hangs around - I am sure you get where I am going with this

Incidently he is now blink free!! (but still grabs at his willy from time to time lol )

It sounds completely normal to me.

But he did say to you that 'dad gets it' so maybe you could speak to him and see if ur Ds has said anything to him.

Thanks to you all .... your responses gave me a good giggle - nice advice on ignoring it if its a nervous thing!
It doesn't seem to bother him .... although it's prob. annoying him with me asking him all the time ...

Do you think it'd be ok if i just told him not to do it in public or around visitors??? ... Unless of course it actually is itchy or needs adjustment!!??!!

    Love your work members!
