Default Have your kids got a special diet? How long could you feed them for?

If your kids have a special diet, how long could you feed them for if nothing was in the shops? If the government was only bringing in basic food.

With every thing which is going on at this time, has it made you think about stocking up so you don't run out in a hurry?

    2 weeks at least.

We are pretty well stocked. We had a lifestyle change over a year ago and since then i have changed how i shop.

Currently we have no food coming over to where i live (an island) as it cant get here because Brisbane is blocked off. The food is scarce in our 1 shop, but we are making do with what we have (now onto frozen and tin veg, which we never eat!)

Our fruit/veg and meat is going to be scarce for quite sometime according to the store manager.

I missed this thread. Thanks for the link! You know what I'm like lol we could eat out of our emergency stocks for 12 weeks at the minimum, probably longer because I would probably make sure we had less than we normally would have per meal to make it all last longer. When we were flooded in last time, it was weeks before we could get out of our street but had months worth of food, so we were able to help out neighbours who were not prepared. I felt it was a bit "off" for a 12 year old to tell me she doesn't like our food and that she would like steak and chips and she whinged and complained that the food on the BBQ was not "real" food because it was things like eggplant, Frys small sausages, that sort of thing rather than steak and chicken sausages and mince patties, etc. I felt like saying "if you don't like it, leave my yard and go home to your empty pantry" but she's a kid so I didn't say anything mean to her, just thought it

17 month old Ds is on a special prescription formula and can only eat fresh fruit and veggies and meat and all our local supermarkets were out of stock and the pharmacy couldn't get our formula in.... I phoned all our family and friends to borrow their fruit n veg and just rationed his formula to only 1 cup a day. Lucky supermarket was restocked yesterday and thank god I hadn't managed to wean 3 month old dd from bf onto prescription formula yet otherwise we would of been stuffed. Hope all you other parents out there with allergy babies are okay and have managed to find food or get prescription formulas for your babies... Xxxxxx
