    Default Dropping feeds

    Hi all,

When did your bub drop from 4 bottles a day to 3?

DS is 6 moths (7 months on the 11th) and for the past few days he hasnt been interested in his 2nd bottle of the day (10:30am). Instead he wants his solids then and a bottle after his midday nap so about 12:30-1ish.
He has 3 solid meals a day.

Is it normal to want to cut a bottle feed out at this age? What age did your bub drop to 3?

I am in the same situation.. My son will be 7 months on the 12 and I have had the same question. He is also on three solid meals a day. Yesterday I tried dropping the amount in the bottle for his 11am and 3pm bottles to 180ml but keeping his breakfast and dinner bottles at 210ml. So far so good. Will be interested to hear someones experiences on this also..

I think anytime from 6 months (as long as they are having 3 solid meals a day plus snacks) is fine to drop a feed. DD didn't drop hers until 10 months, and I just give her some yoghurt as a snack instead.

I've just dropped a feed for my boys, they are 8 months...yep a bit slow I was :-) I've dropped the 3pm feed and they now have sippy cup water and a snack when they wake from afternoon sleep, anywhere between 4& 4.30.

After replying to this I thought I'd experiment a bit and try to drop down to three feeds. He has been having three bottles of 210mls (240 after adding formula) at 7am, 11am and 6pm and he is having a snack (yoghurt and/or fruit depending on how hungry he is) at 3pm. It seems to be going well after about a week! He is just over 7 months
