Preschool related question

Hey guys..my not so little boy is going to start preschool this year and i am a mix of emotions..lol(yes i am one of those mums). Anyway as the preschool is down the road and isn't very far i was thinking ill just walk him down there but i thought it might be exhausting for him and tire him out before his big day or he would be too tired after his big day to walk..hope that makes sense..so do you think him taking the his little trike there and back or should i invest in a cheap stroller(there are hills)...or should i just bite the bullet and drive? I know this seems like a silly question but i would like to have plans for before he starts, if there are any other tips you could give me that would be great i am already trying to get him in to a bit of a nicer routine, thanks in advance!

Walk or trike!! I think that'd be great fun for the both of you and good for fitness too! Maybe the first day or 3 drive so it's more familiar and won't tire him out on those first couple of days.. But ultimately walk or trike

Depends on how far 'down the road' is!!!
I would be inclined to walk when ever I could. And drive when the weather isn't too good.
But if it a fair walk maybe get s cheap, light stroller that Ds could either sit in or put his bag in.

We walk because it's not that far.

Walk or trike! Set it up now for how you'd like him to think - ie walking to school etc later on

In fact, try having a few practise 'runs' now so that you know how long it takes and you can be metally prepared for how he copes.

If you find now that it's a bit of a struggle, then plan to walk there and maybe use a stroller to get home.

Our school has commented that kids that walk/ride to school are better prepared to sit down and concentrate without the heebie/jeebies and kids that are driven take longer to settle.

Hmm I'm thinking he might get teased if he goes in a stroller jmo.. Walking or biking sounds good. Walking would be good as you get to ask lots of questions about his day and gives him a way to "unwind" before getting home...

My daughter and I used to walk. We were only down the road, but to get there we had to walk up a hill. Never really bothered her much, but she did sometimes complain on the way home about her tired legs

. But once she was home she was fine.
I agree with the above post though about having a couple of practise runs before he starts. We did this last school term as dd starts kindergarten this year and the trial runs were great for her. She knows where we are going and where her classroom is etc. Now everytime we drive or walk past she points and tells us that it is her school.

Yeah that makes sense don't worry widget I don't know how to make a sig so not your fault anyway he will be 4 in feb but he starts officially before his birthday hope that makes sense and I was worried that I may not be able to at 30plus weeks in the heat but if I do it slowly then I should be ok there is a little park at the back of it so he could play on the equip before we head back I usually take him to the bigger one I hope I am making sense as I'm on my phone lol i will take him tomorrow and see how long it takes us and stuff thanks for all your input I'll be back with more questions

Oh my apologises I'm on my phone and don't see sigs.. I for some reason assumed school like 5 year olds.. Yeah for a 3 year old I would probably use a stroller on the way home..
