there was a bunch of threads on this earlier this year
for us the best thing was a sling (as travelling in south east asia it was shocking to use a stroller)
taking our time is important, and having heaps of play time to make up for being cooped up while travelling
we made sure we went home/hotel for the arvo nap, or didn't go out till after morning nap, so DD could have a decent rest in quiet.
