    Hi Ladies,
I haven't been around much lately, but have a quick question for anyone else on Clexane or similar blood thinners...

So I'm now almost 29wks pregnant, and all is going well! I've been using clexane and aspirin since 9wks and and finding lately that I 'leak' blood from my injections sites. Its as if my blood is so thin that the spots wont seal up. Today I bled from a site that I injected a few days ago, but its also happening during the night from the one I did that day. I apply pressure and ice after injecting and it doesn't bleed then, just hours / days later! I feel like a pincushion and keep bloodying up my clothes! Anyone else?
Can your blood get too thin??

i don't think that its your blood getting "too thin" more that the platelets aren't plugging up the hole like they should. i'd check with your dr as maybe the dose is too high? not sure. that has never happened to me except with a large dose of a clot dissolving medicine.

    Hi PA80,

I am not sure either - but it happened to me also. I keeped "leaking" blood from one injection site after being on clexane for only a week. For a few days it would get on my clothes, bed sheets, soak through bandaids. I just thought maybe a got a vein or something or my dose was too high. But it was just that one spot which made me think maybe I "hit" something when I injected. But then I had another miscarriage so stopped the clexane and aspirin so I didn't investigate it any further. Probably best to check with your doctor.

Went to OB today and asked about my leaky issue.... he said its not common....but nothing to worry about. Hmm, guess I'll just put up with it then! I have bigger issues looming than a bit of leaky belly blood I suppose

HI ladies, just popping in to say I had my baby girl on the 14th of Dec. She refused to budge, so at 42 weeks I decided to be induced to get a shot at a VBAC. So no homebirth but a sucessful VBAC, thanks to the amazing staff at the womens. They were so beautiful.
It was incredibly painful and I'm a bit battled scarred, but for over a 4 kilo baby and my first vaginal birth not too shabby! Very glad I didn't have to go to theatre and my midwife and husband were invaluable support.

She's yet to be named.. Being a little indecisive on that one.
Got her right away into my arms and got to feed her soon after. Got to keep my placenta too, which was important to me. And it had a whole extra part/ piece, which they said may have meant she started off as a twin?
My friend made it to take photos for me, so amazing to have that record. Although maybe a while before I can look at them without crossing my legs!

Hope all's well with the other preggo ladies and newborns. And happy new year to everyone.

a big congratulations to you tatina on your little princess.
glad to hear you birth went well

hi pa80 i dont remember having that problem with clexane but i was only ever on either clexane or asprin at once not together.
hope your pregnancy is progressing well.

a big hello to everyone else

afm not much happening, have been told i can stop asprin so as i am only 22 weeks i have dropped to every second day as i dont want anything to happen before the viable stage of 24weeks.
we were told at a quick scan done by a doctor at the hospital i am going to for my antenatal care that we were having a girl(this was at 13-14weeks).
well we werent actually going to find out the sex but he blurted it out so i felt we should find out so i didnt think it was a girl the whole time and end up having a boy at birth.
well the doctor was wrong we indeed are having another little bundle of blue
it never mattered the sex but i just didnt want to think one sex the whole time then have another.
bubby is measuring a week ahead.

hope you all had a nice xmas and have a safe and happy new year xoxoxo

Congratulations Tatiana! Well done on the VBAC with such a big healthy baby! Welcome to the big world little princess

Heatherm- gee that's pretty unprofessional of that sonographer, but congrats on your little man

Artemist- as soon as I saw the name I knew you were my quilt friend LOL! hehe, still sneaking around here are ya?! Yeah not allowed to use my thighs or butt, and hate doing it in the front of my bump, so my sides are getting hammered. OB said same thing- "Skinny girls bleed more" so I took the compliment! The last few days have been ok, no leakage, oh well only a handfull of weeks to go...

Hi ladies - I hope this thread isn't too old to post on again, but I hope someone can help me. My GP ordered blood tests since my sister has a disorder, and found out I have 'Prothrombin G20210A Mutation' - Heterozygous, like she does. He said I shouldn't have any problems TTC but gave me a referral, but I can't see the hematologist until 22nd March.

I've been TTC for 8 months now and no luck - I am ovulating, so I wonder if I should start on aspirin to help with implantation? I have an appointment with a different GP on Monday (I only saw the one who ordered the BTs twice and he's on holiday for the entire month of January!) and I'm going to ask her if she can fax a referral through to the hematologist so I can get in sooner ... bleugh, I am just feeling lost and don't know where to turn.

Hugs Angelini, I don't know anything about that particular disorder but baby aspirin 100mg is available over the counter and I would start taking it but it's a personal decision, can you talk to your gp?
