    Hi All,

Heatherm - great to hear that the scan today went well and you got a great heartbeat. So thrilled for you
Glad you have started on the aspirin as well, as this will give you a bit more confidence that the baby will stick.

Cheekymonkey - thanks for that info. You sound like you have a great team around you. I am really happy that I have a team I really trust and will help me have a healthy baby.
Hope you scan today went well and that bubs is growing and hanging on!!

All the best to everyone at whatever stage of the journey they are at . to all.

    Dear All,

I hope everyone's pregnancies are going along well.

HeatherM - glad too to hear that your scan went well. I hope that you get into the hospital that you want to.

Ms CurlyGirl - Thanks. I hope everything is going ok for you. When do you find out whether the FET was successful? and for a sticky one for you.

Unfortunately I was admitted to hospital on Tuesday night at 8 w5d with heavy bleeding. I suspected it was coming because of the baby's slow heart rate (they think the heart didn't form properly) but didn't think it was going to be so dramatic. I had a scan the next morning and there were still retained products there but my ob doesn't want to do a d&c because she doesn't want me to have an anaesthetic (they flare my lupus). So I am left waiting for it to happen naturally which logically I can see is the best option given my medical conditions but emotionally I just want it over with.

I don't think my lupus and Antiphospholipid Syndrome had much to do with my miscarriages as both the lupus and APS have been the best they have been in years. What I am worried about given it is likely that the babies haven't formed properly that it might be because of a medication that I take for my lupus, Imuran (which is a pregnancy category D drug - so known to cause abnormalities either if the female & male takes it). My Drs have said it is fine to take it - that the studies were only small and they have looked after lots of ladies taking Imuran with no problems but it just in the back of my mind.

Does anyone else with Lupus take Imuran and has had any problems?

Sorry for the not so happy post but just wanted to ask the question.

CheekyMonkey - I am so sorry to hear your news. This is a really difficult thing to go through. Hope you are back to good health in no time.
I know you said that you think the lupus and APS do not have much to do with the miscarriages, but they might do. My understanding is that the levels of antibodies are irrelevent, and the risk is there regardless.
Rest assured that the approach you are using of clexane and aspirin is the right thing to do with your medical history (similar to mine).
Im not sure about the lupus med that you are on. Maybe discuss your concerns with your rheumatologist, and see if there is another med you can swap onto.

AFM: I am now in the TWW. Have a blood test on Fri 30th Sept.

    Hi Everyone,

Just a quick one from me. I just wanted to let you know about the safe arrival of our first blood clotting disorder bub, Lucy on September 6th 2011 . We had a long labour (36 hours from waters breaking to birth) but all is well and I'm finally settling into my new role as Mum (the sleep deprivation takes some getting used too ). Lucy is a lovely little girl and I can't imagine life now without her.

I hope that you are all well and I look forward to hearing about the arrival of the next bubs soon Welcome to all the new ladies!

    Hi Ladies,

    Thought I'd check in.

Luvabubba - congrats on your beautiful little Lucy!! So exciting to have our first clotting thread bub! I hope you had a wonderful birth and am glad to hear that you're settling in to motherhood so well.

Heatherm - glad everything is going well. Good luck deciding on your hospital and with your NT scan. Keep us updated.

    Welcome to the new ladies

Cheekymonkey - I'm so sorry to hear of your recent loss I wish you all the best when you decide to pick up TTC again. I'm sorry - I'm MTHFR and don't know anything about Lupus/APS meds. One suggestion might be to augment the advice you've been given by seeing a medication in pregnancy specialist. Mothersafe is a NSW organisation that is run by a clinical geneticist and really helped me make some decisions about meds for pregnancy/TTC.

MsCurlygurl - fingerscrossed for you this month! Hope you get your bfp

Salty - I was always given the advice if on Clexane to switch to low-dose heparin (twice daily) injections at 36 weeks. It is shorter acting so there is less chance of it being in your system when you go into labour, which should help minimise bleeding and also keeps the option of an epidural open if that's something you want.

Hopeful - I hope everything is going well for you. I had forgotten that we're only a few days apart. Looks like end of Nov/beginning of Dec should be exciting for this thread between you, me, Tatiana and Poobear (sorry if I've missed anyone).

Babydust and belly rubs to everyone.
