No such thing as a silly question

for those who home birthed where did you set up your birth pool? Mine was in the lounge, looking back I wish I had of put it in the bedroom, somewhere I could of shut the doors and hidden.

who emptied it? My MW emptied most of it, then hubby removed the liner and tipped the rest onto the garden.

and how did it get emptied? Syphoned onto the garden using the hose that filled fit.

I set my birth pool up in my bedroom. I filled it from the tap in my ensuite, I just got a little hose connector from Bunnings.

DH had a little electric pump thingy that was immersed in the pool, with a hose attachment that went straight out the bedroom window onto the garden. DH emptied the pool himself, it was emptied in about 10 minutes

Ours was set up in the nursery which has a door to the bathroom so that was handy. We had a small pump to empty it which my midwives organised while we were having some skin to skin time with DS on our bed. Then they put the pool outside and DF cleaned it properly when we woke up. We had a liner though so just chucked that in the bin.

Hubby emptied it and this time we have a thing to help that you attach to the hose so its easier to cyphen.

I set up in the dining room, my doula and mother emptied it into the yard. This time I want to be in the bedroom for privacy but have to work out how we will empty it..

I used a tarp the first time and a painters drop sheet last time. The drop sheets are in the painting section at Big W for $2 something each

thanks was planning on putting the pool in the dining room which is close to the bathroom and toilet(and all tiled) but I feel I want more privacy so putting it in the bedroom i can still access the ensuite but shut doors etc

That's where I put mine last time and it was really convenient as afterwards I only had a few steps to walk to the shower
