Question TTC 3yrs - Late Period, PCOS + thoughts?

    Hey there everyone,

I'm new to this so I apologise in advance if i'm not doing things properly.

I was chasing a little feedback on my current situation. My hubby and I have been TTC for almost 3 yrs now, I have PCOS and scarring on my FT. My right FT is blocked and the left is clear.

Since puberty hit I've always had regular periods and for the past 12 months i've been tracking my cycles which are seemingly normal but a little longer at 32 days on the dot. Once in the 12 months i had a 34 day cycle but that has been the only alteration.

For the past 8 months i've been trying some natural therapies and diets which have been fantastic for the PCOS symptoms (which are acne, mid-cycle bleeding - so far i've been lucky and haven't encountered any others) but unfortunately I haven't fallen pregnant.

After my last cycle (October) I gave up, I decided a break was in order as it's putting strain on day-day life (as a lot of you may know about) with Chrissy getting close, I threw myself into my two businesses and forgot about it. However, I made around ovulation time we did the deed plenty lol! IVF has been planned for March 2011 if it comes to that.

I am now currently 7 days late. Normally about 10 days before a period my boobs get huge and sore, 7 days before I get cranky (lol) and about 5 days before I get some brown discharge. I have had none of this. In the last few days i've been feeling a little wierd, I'm still hungry but a little turned off everything. Small twinges on the left (mainly) but also on the right. I think my boobs are a little bigger but can't really be sure as there big anyway! lol.... I've had quite a bit more CM than normal today and it's a little yellow in colour. I know you'll all probably say TAKE A TEST... but after taking SO SO SO many and always getting a negative... this time i thought i'd wait and see what happens rather than depress myself. I'm going to take a test on Christmas Eve if no period has emerged by then - that would be 14 days late.

I suppose my question is can anyone think of a logical explanation of why my period would be late? Could the PCOS just kick in randomly like that? Maybe someone's had a similar experience?

I'm really keen to hear any responses and honesty is always appreciated.

    Thanks Heaps

    Kathryn

I have PCOS but my AF was never regular until I lost some weight and then she was spot on 28days for like 6mths! I was like you too, had done soooo many tests and said that I would never do any more once we decided to give up, I missed one period and then for some strange reason I was due for my next one and my boobs were really sore and I don't know what it was but I bought a test, I was 10wks! I would say to you if they have always been regular and by the sounds of the changes to your body you might be lucky. I like your idea of waiting until xmas eve that would just be the best news for you to spread around your family on xmas day, let us know how you go and best of luck, I really do hope you get your BFP!

    Default Thanks :)

Thanks for your response, i'm actually feeling a little bit excited but still trying to be realistic. AF has still not arrived and I haven't had any signs that it will. Still feeling queasy and a little 'off' so you never know i suppose. Congrats on your two little ones. Thanks again
