    Default Sterilising Bottles

We're staying at my mum's house for the night and I forgot to bring down our stream steriliser. My son is 9 weeks old, do you think it would be ok just for the one night to just wash his bottles in hot soapy water and rinse with hot water and then let them air dry before using? If that's not ok, what would you suggest?

hi - i think in the olden days they used to just boil them in a large saucepan on the stove.

Make sure all the equipment/bottles etc are covered with water, put a lid on, bring to the boil and then leave to cool

I haven't sterilised any of my daughters bottles. It is not necessary to do so, hot soapy water is all you need, so will be fine

Hot soapy water is enough all the time. My hospital told me that steralising isnt necessary. Besides nothing stays sterile for long

    Thank you for the replies.

I just washed them in hot soapy water for tonight, once I get back home tomorrow I will continue to sterilise.

I agree, and our hospital told us the same. We never sterilised.

Hot soapy water, rinse & air dry is all they need.

Boiling, sterilising is from the 60's onwards when water quality wasnt that crash hot.
