    Thanks lindylou and eternaloptimist.
I'm alot better today about the whole thing, I just felt as though the wind was knocked out of my sails!
Glad u ladies are well, the heat is horrible today no breeze at all!
What is the reasoning about keeping u stomach and feet warm? I saw that someone else had written that their accupuntirist told them to wear shoes in her 2ww and she swears that's how she got her bfp.
ATM I'm going for my first bt tommorrow morning to see when I'm ready to ovulate, hoofully next week goes by fast I'm ready for my et.
Hope all other syd ladies are well.

Thanks Eternal Optimist and Lindylou for asking after me
Was travelling ok for a few days, threw myself into making plans etc but today have hit a wall of sadness probably tumbling hormones not helping. It really sucks to be waiting for a miscarriage, can't move forward physically or psychologically. Will give it 2 weeks and then will be asking for the D&C.

Have already been to GP for a referral to a miscarriage specialist (Devora Leiberman at SIVF), she may well end up saying the same as my current FS and there is nothing more I can be tested for it is just down to poor egg/embryo quality, but I need to feel I have left no stone unturned.

EO, sending you lots of vibes and for the next few days. I only ever had 'symptoms' during TWW when I have been on meds, never when I had a BFP for natural FET or this pregnancy. Got my fingers crossed for you doll

Lindylou, good on you for digging deep and going to the baby shower. I decided sometime last year that I wouldn't go to anymore for reasons of self preservation, no point when I only come home and cry for hours and feel anxious the whole time I'm there that someone will ask me questions about my kids. I always make an effort to go and see the new mumma and bub when they get home and take a pressie (I also like shopping for the pressie!) But I find the 1:1 much easier to handle and it's so nice to have a cuddle with the newborn.

25andhopeful, yep it's one thing you can count on when your TTC journey is taking a while and that's the ongoing pregnancy announcements. Not sure it gets any easier , most of my friends are now onto no. 2 in the time we have been TTC no. 1. For some reason I find it a lot easier to be involved in their lives once the baby is born, but I find avoiding them altogether only makes it worse for me and for our relationship. For some close friends I have had to just name this and let them know they won't see me quite as often during the pregnancy but I wish them well.
    for your bt tomorrow.

    Quartz,

25andhopeful: The reason they like to keep your feet and stomach warm is to help with blood flow and also the flow of energy into the body. Even though it’s sweltering hot, I have been wearing socks ever since I have O’ed and always wear a singlet to make sure my tummy is warm. I also only eat warm foods and drinks (room temp water only), so no ice cream or any drinks with ice in it the entire cycle and def no swimming. Have a look at this website, its got lots of useful info on it about extra things to do during a cycle, this clinic have done loads of research into acupuncture and IVF and come VERY highly recommended. http://www.acupunctureivf.com.au/

Some people are very skeptical about all of this but I am a big believer of it. I have never O’ed on day 14 since I got my periods when I was 16 and since doing acupuncture in the last 6 months I now do and I also have hardly any period paid at all compared to before acupuncture, my acupuncturist was also the first person to tell me I was pregnant on my last cycle so I am all for it. (I don’t take any herbs though).

Starfish: Hi darl, sorry to hear its still very hard for you . It took me a good solid 3 months before I seen the light at the end of the tunnel, the thing I found that helped me was to have a plan for the next cycle. I made the really hard decision to have the D&C the day after we were told as I know I just couldn’t move forward emotionally or physically and it did really help, the first few weeks were really hard becasue of all the homrone changes.

I have heard great things about Devora, I have a friend who goes to her because of recurrent miscarriages and she really likes her, she is also now pregnant after 5 – 6 previous miscarriages so she knows her stuff. She also gets her patients to take a lot of preventative meds even though they may not be diagnosed with a particular problem just to cover all bases, so I think she will be able to help you so much honey. Do you have an appointment booked in yet with her?

Thank EO, I have been hearing lots of positive 'Devora' stories of successful pg after many mc's. DH and I have an appt for mid Feb. I also had another bt today and hcg is still (slowly) rising not falling, so have decided to have the D&C, it could just drag on for weeks at this rate. Just need to see FS tomorrow and arrange theatre day for Fri or Mon.

Is it 2 days to bt now??? How are you feeling?

Hi to everyone else, quiet in here!

Starfish – I wish we could take all your sadness away forever – you have been through so much. Infertility/IVF and miscarriage seems the most cruel combination – just so unfair. You are in my thoughts. Sorry to hear your levels are still rising – i really feel for you being in such limbo. I hope you can go for the D&C soon. take care

EO – Hope you are going OK, the TWW is just so mentally agonising! In regard to symptoms – your DH is right and also not every pregnancy is the same so you might feel or not feel different things – so hard not to analyse every twinge! Crossing everything for you!

I too have been doing the chinese medicine thing in terms of keeping warm – tough to miss out on swimming in summer! – do you go for accu at the ivf accu support clinic? I think they are fantastic there!

25andhopeful – hope your BT went well! Even though i have my DD I still find pregnancy announcements tough – how crazy – but watching it happen easily for others is quite confronting.

Quartz – hope ur doing OK

Lindylou – i hope the babyshower went OK and ur travelling well.

AFM – just enjoying a break from IVF and the crazy rollercoaster , trying to get fit again. Off to see FS next week!

PinkButterfly: Yep I go to the acu IVF support clinic in the city. I really like them. I haven’t ever taken any herbs just used the acupuncture and LOVE it. The break is always awesome; it helps you put life back into reality a little, i get so consumed by IVF when i am doing a cycle, its like nothing else in the world even exists. When we had to wait three months after our MC I used the time to really focus on DH and me and I found I fell in love with him all over again. Hope your FS has a great plan for you for your next cycle. Are you guys looking at doing another one soon?

Starfish: Oh hon that sucks your HCG is still rising; def sounds like the best option to do the D&C. I found it really helped me move forward. The fall in hormones after it is hard to handle it made me so emotional for about 4 weeks until they all settled down again. Wishing you a very smooth procedure for Friday or Monday honey

25andhopeful: How did your BT go babe? Any sign of Ovulation yet?

Hi Sydney gals – it does seem to be pretty quiet in here lately. We must all be back at work – working hard again.

AFM: So I figure I am less than 22 hours away from getting my BT results. I was feeling really confident about this cycle towards the start but today not so much. I still don’t have any symptoms at all besides being extremely hungry the last few days and having a grumbly belly all the time. I have been having niggly cramps pretty much the entire TWW but today is when AF is due and I am starting to get stronger cramps so don’t think that’s a good sign and today I woke up with a really sore throat and the sniffles, kinda feels like I am getting a head cold, But not long now…………….

    Default Inbetween daze

Thought I might join in here as we will I think be going down this road again this year or next. Probably this year as I am not getting any younger . I have endo and PCOS and had to have surgery for the endo before the IVF and might need it again (hope not as that will be another 5k - such an expensive business!)

DD was born October last year so a bit soon for #2. We were very lucky that it worked first go and we have a freezie for next time .

We used Next Generation Fertility with Dr Janelle MacDonald. She was GREAT and so were the nurses and staff at the clinic. We went to the Parramatta clinic but there is also one at Penrith and Campbelltown. Having moved to the south west it will probably be Campbelltown next time. Dr MacDonald also does bulk billed appointments on Thursdays at the Ashfield Family Planning - that's where we found her.

    Hugs

Good Luck Eternal Optimist - I hope you have great news tomorro - hunger and sniffles could be positive. Keeping everything crossed for you

Yes, I have been using the city clinic for accu for transfers although now I've changed FS, I might need to use their Maroubra clinic. Not sure what our plan is - see what FS says - I would love another month or so off but with my eggs fast running out its a bit of a time pressure

    Quartz sending

Starfish - hope you are ok

Leeny76 - welcome ! congrats on your DD - i hope your 2nd time with IVF is just as short and sweet!

    Hi Girls,

I'm down in Canberra this week for training which is why I've been quiet.

EO- Good luck with BT tomorrow! Hope its the best possible news, FX & babydust!

Starfish- Yay for referral & appt with a miscarriage specialist. Sounds like a big step in the right direction!

Quartz- have a safe trip home, bet u can't wait to give DH a big hug

PinkB- It is nice having time out from IVF, and getting fit sounds like a great idea! Baby shower was nice and I wasn't the least bit sad, weird huh?

Welcome Leeny & hi to everyone else. Sorry for keeping it short, on my phone. I've been in canberra since yesterday and come home fri night. AF started today and DH tells me our herbs from Sharkeys arrived. So we are one cycle closer...

Do you gals think we ought to have a roll call for our thread? Any ideas for headings so we can see at a glance where everyone's at?
