    Hi Ladies,

Felicita: My Acupuncturist also told me about the socks on the feet to keep the uterus warm in the TWW as well. Hope everything is coming along for you now ready for your next cycle .

Starfish: Thanks for dropping in honey, hope your enjoying your time out from IVF .

Nat: I love that you are doing something about it . This feels like an eternity for AF to show up. Hope she arrives pronto for you so you can get back into another cycle.

PinkB: Good luck for remainder of your TWW darl, can’t wait to hear the good news when i get back. I have everything crossed for you and am sending bucket loads of sticky baby dust your way . As for keeping warm, my acu told me to wear socks the entire TWW, and to drink warm water and eat warming foods, def no ice cream or ice blocks etc, which isn’t hard to avoid in this cold weather .

Traveler: Hope the TWW goes quickly for you hon, like Pink B, i can’t wait t hear the good news when i get back from my trip. Sending you a few more buckets of sticky babdy dust.

Lindylou: Thinking of you today hon, hope you’re at home now resting up .

AFM; Off to NZ tonight for our IVF free holiday . We come back on 19th so will be eagerly waiting to come on here and see how everyone has been going and all the good news. I am expected big things form PinkB and Traveler, about time we got our graduates list going .

Default It's official - starting IVF in July :)

    Hi everyone ,

I am on the July IVF thread but saw this Sydney one and thought I'd join in...

I just got home from my specialist and we have decided to definitely go ahead and start IVF (ICSI) in July! Now just have to wait for AF (only on CD 5 now, so got a few weeks yet!) and I can start injections.

He explained a lot of things to us at the appointment but I was so excited to finally be starting after 3 years of TTC that I didn't listen very closely! Oops so...If anyone has advice for a first timer I'd love to hear it. x

Bella978: Welcome to BH and IVF, it’s not an easy journey, we are all here to help each other out and provide a shoulder to lean on or cry on (hopefully not to many tears). Ask away as many questions as you like, most of us ladies on here have been through a few cycles so know a thing or two about it. Which clinic are you with and if you don’t mind me asking – what is the reason for you doing IVF?

    Thanks for the welcome

    Here is my background:

    Me 32, DH 37.
TTC since July 2008. Got a referral to FS (Next Generation) in Aug10 (wish I didn't wait so long) and found some problems with DHs sperm - 80% anti sperm antibodies, although when I saw the FS today he said the recent test/analysis only showed 60%. I had all sorts of tests and everything showed up fairly normal. They thought I had mild endo and a cyst on my R ovary - had a lap about 3 weeks ago - stage 3 endo (cyst was endometrioma that had recently burst ) but the report today was that all looks good.

We did 2 months of Clomid in Jan/Feb, no luck. IVF recommeded but need to have laparoscopy to remove cyst & endo before they would go ahead with it (infection risk?).

We asked about IUI but success rates for our combination of issues would not be high.

So, today we got the go ahead to start ICSI next month - very excited and hopeful! Expecting AF around July 3/4 and should start injecting on CD2.

I'm sure I'll have lots questions and I will post as I think of them! My first one would be what people's thoughts were on acupuncture to complement IVF?

Is anyone else on here going Next Generation Fertility?

Sorry if my BH lingo is off - I'm learning as I go!

    Hi Girls,

Just a quick one to let you know my lap/hyst/biopsy went smoothly. Seems I did have some endo lurking around in there, which Dr R fixed up for me. Came as a shock as I've never had symptoms, but relieved that another roadblock is now resolved

Thanks to all for thinking of me, will be back with personals tomorrow. Starf1sh was spot on, DH is waiting on me while I rest up, watch tv & snooze!

OK, I'm back for proper personals...

PinkB- It sure has been absolutely freezing! Ditto what the others said about keeping your feet warm, and make sure you keep your lower back covered up too. Yoga pants with the fold-over waist are really good, just unfold the top to cover your tummy. In Winter, I have to wear layers to stay warm- spencers tucked into leggings and then my normal clothes over the top of that! One week down... now for the hardest part of the TWW, hope you've got lots of activities to keep you busy and keep the crazies at bay!

Starf1sh- thanks for popping in with well wishes for me. Very glad the op is over & done with! Thinking of you often and will miss you while you take some BH time-out .

    Traveler-

Nat- that's the way, take things into your own hands and show that naughty AF who's boss! Hope the pill does the trick for you.

EO- stay safe on your NZ holiday and have an awesome time! Hope you get into all the adrenlin rushing fun over there, zorbing, bungee jumping, etc.

Bella- Hi and Have you read this thread in the sticky section of the the IVF forum? http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=378054 Lots of helpful stuff in there for newbies. For the lingo/acronyms, check out this thread: http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=5331.

We have alot in common!! I'm 32 and my DH is 37, we have MFI, and I had a lap just yesterday which showed some endo. When I first saw an FS, it was with Next Gen too. However, the Liverpool branch of Next Gen broke away & formed their own clinic. We still did our 1st ICSI cycle there, but now have moved onto Sydney IVF. My new FS told me that when you have endo, there are messenger cells in the endo tissue outside the uterus that send signals to the tissue inside, and this has a negative impact on implantation. Hence, getting rid of the endo is important before doing IVF. Hope the time waiting to start passes quickly for you!

Hi to Felicita, Quartz, MrsDaisy and anyone I've missed

AFM- Still a bit woozy at times, and have to keep my mid-section straight when I move. Any bending at the waist is quite painful, so changing undies this morning was challenging! I don't have any internal pains, just the incisions themselves that hurt. Oh and I can feel the gas gurgling around in there now & then. Its weird!

Hope you all have an awesome long weekend!

    Hey Ladies,

I thought I would join in here with the rest of you Sydney girls!

I have lots to read up on, but today will be a pretty quick one from me... Not many personals... But I do hope everyone is traveling along well!!

I see there are a couple of ladies in the TWW, sending lots & lots of to all of you!!

Bella978-I am with NGF! Seeing Dr Matthews, she is really lovely. What Doc are you with?

AFM-We started our IVF journey in Nov 09-unexplained infertility , Luckily got that BFP first go, and now have a 10 month old DS. So here were go again, this second time around has gone so quick as I am doing a natural FET (blast from our first cycle), all I had was 3 blood tests leading up to Ov, and today transferred 1 hatching blast. for a sticky... however what's the chance of striking gold twice?? Feeling pessimistic to tell you the truth... BT on 20/06... I guess I don't have to wait that long.. 10 days to go...

Can't wait to get to know some of you ladies & hope you all have a great long weekend!!!
