lindylou78 - Sorry to hear of your BFN

    TTHC - Happy Birthday!!!

Well I just heard from one of my nurses and out of the 8 eggs collected 6 were fertilised!!!! I am over the moon with it being my first try. Now i just have to wait another couple of days to see how they go and hope they reach day 5 for transfer.

    Great fert, claire77.

The lab just phoned with our d6 report. Not surprisingly no frosties again. BUT the two that had been stuck at 5 and 6 cells for days had moved on to be poor quality morulas! Hopefully their continued growth is a good sign for the one we've put back.

We changed so many things this cycle, can anyone suggest a reason for this improvement?

My wild, out-there, heretical guess is that my zona pellucida (eggshell) is nearly impervious to allowing nutrients through. The three embies were doing their usual go OK until d3 then slow right down and stop, but on d3 this time we had assisted hatching where they used a laser to thin the eggshell in one spot. After the eggshell was thinned the healthiest emby picked up first and went from 8 cell to early blast in 24 hours, and the poorer two spent an extra day in hibernation or the sulks before pushing on from 5-6 cells to poor morulas in 24 hours. Weird.

(Yesterday the FS and scientist were speculating that if we got another blast today I might have a another ET today instead of freezing it, but it turns out that I'm not quite that weird ... yet.)

Lindylou: WTF i have been quiet at work all week and the one time i NEED to check BH and my boss gives me an urgent job. I was hanging out all morning waiting to check what was happening. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO this was supposed to work!! I am so angry, upset, gutted, devastated and just hurt for you. I am going to be in denial that your HPT’s are F%^&*ing stupid and just wrong and BT will tell the truth and bring better news.

TTHC: Happy Birthday Gorgeous Girl. Hope you have a fabulous day and DH has is spoiling you rotten. You definitely take the award for best phone post in our thread. It’s great news that you are taking each day as it comes and regaining your strength after everything you have been through. Have you scheduled your follow up appt with your FS?

Felicita: Great news your other two embys kept developing. I have high hopes for your little one onboard at the moment. Sounds like the assisted hatching worked a treat this cycle.

Crofty: ha ha ha “Award winning emby”, you made me laugh so much. Yep i think i am about due for one now as well. Such fantastic numbers for your cycle this time hon, it really has been such an improvement, pitty you couldn’t do your transfer this time, but at least you have your little family in the freezer waiting. We may be cycling together in November again after all. Love your high five story, i also read your farting story and told DH he was cracking up.

Bella: Oh hon are you another POAS addict? I like Felicitas idea of peeing on paddle pop sticks. How are you feeling in the TWW?

Angela: When is your BT hon?

Paddlegirl: That’s fantastic number of eggs hon, have you had your fert call yet?

Qartz: How is the TWW going hon? Hopefully you’re feeling better than yesterday.

Traveler: Yay for almost starting your cycle. I personally prefer the long down reg cycles to the antagonist ones. I get much better results all round. The only down side is the extra side effects, i get the worst headaches until i start the FSH.

Claire77: Welcome, we are with Genea Kent Street and DH specialist is Dr Lok – we love him (i use Dr B) Awesome news on your eggs and fert rate.

AFM: TMI but i had lots of EWCM last night and my usual O headache, my FN said i wouldn’t O at all but i am taking this for whatever it is and hoping it now means 2 weeks till AF after all.

EO- Thanks so much hun, your post pretty much summed up how I felt about it too! When there was no 2nd line, I couldn't believe it... I EXPECTED this cycle to work, we threw everything into it. I guess the embies just didn't have the right stuff . The thaw results were pretty crap, so we didn't get off to a good start. DH wants to start detox straight away, and this time we'll do the pre-IVF herbs that you guys did (instead of the personal herbal formulas). We'll be ready to stim again in Jan and get us the best batch of embies ever. WOO-HOO for O signs, thats awesome news!

Felicita- oh wow, your embies are full of surprises! If those other 2 have become morulas, that definitely bodes well for the blasty you've got on board! Assisted hatching sounds like it worked wonders . LOL at the paddlepop sticks!! I guess half a skateboard and a single line are equivalents- equally useless

Claire- Hi & Welcome! I'm a Genea Liverpool girl too. Congrats on your awesome EPU and fert results, that is a brilliant outcome for your first cycle! I hope your 6 embies progress beautifully over the next 4 days

Sticky- thanks darl. Yes, there is always a plan of attack! Hard core detox for 3 months and do it all over again. Thanks for the inside info on the acu at Genea, hope they roll it out to the other clinics too!

Katrea- I see you already found the WFC thread, those girls would be the best to answer you. There is also an RPA thread floating around. Angelanathan who is part of this & the Bris girls thread just did her cycle with WFC, so she may pop in to shed some light. Good luck making your choice!

Angela- no AF yet for me either. This is the first that the pessaries have actually delayed her in my case, previous cycles she showed up right on time.
Traveler- too late! I'd rather find out about a BFN at home then to get the horrible call at work, so its for the best. Gee, not too long and you'll be sniffing!

TTHC- Happy Birthday!! My BT is tomorrow, but we already know what its going to say . Good to hear your spotting has finished, one step closer hey?

Crofty- Anyanka was stirring up trouble in the "All ladies in the dreaded TWW" thread, if you pop in there, you'll have to scroll a fair way back to find the commotion (dating back to 13/10). You know her style from the WFC thread . Great to hear the DHEA has made such a difference for you! You really are a barrel of laughs when you've been under, LOL at the awkward high-five!

Hi to all the other Syd girls and thanks in advance for the commiserations and hugs...

AFM- the denial phase is passing and I'm feeling alright considering. Still sucks that I have no baby after 5 cycles and 7 blasties, but we aren't ready to give up yet. I gave DH the choice to detox after Xmas, but he wants to start on it now. Fine by me . I'd love to stim again in Jan but will need to see Dr R and find out about holiday closures & what not. On the plus side, we are picking up our new car tomorrow afternoon and taking a road trip to Melb this weekend. Outside of IVF, we really are blessed and I'm very grateful for that.

    Quick one - lindylou cra$
    cra$, cra$, cra$, cra$ - so sorry babe just $ux - uuurrrrrr

Katrea, welcome and FYI I've been with WFC for nearly a year and started seeing Dr Ashley Fong in sept 2010 - she is one of the more expensive $450 1st appt - $225 or there abouts from then on (u get alot back from medicare, ESP since I hit the threshold - think I pay about $20 now in total) I will have a look at costs when I'm home 2nite and add to WFC thread - my suggestion is if ur starting to cycle and want the best financial benefits start all FS appts, do all ur tests (bloods, ultrasound) and be ready to start in jan!!!! Good luck 

Was about to whinge for losing a big post but have just disocvered the new 'restore auto-saved content' button.

I'm so sorry I'm so behind in posting.

I just wanted to quickly post for lindylou. Don't give up yet - unless you have a negative blood test or af, it ain't over! I got a negative HPT 2 days before my positive BT. Hang in there.

And sticky, you've made my day! I'm hoping to speak to Dr B next week and will be asking about this too.

Well af came 10 days after EPU, which was obviously 4-5 days earlier than I expected. Does this mean I have a luteal phase defect and what impact could this have on IVF. That seems a silly question after 5 cycles! Anyway, I guess this means I can start again sooner! I don't think we have time to do both a fresh and frozen cycle before Christmas, so if my FS is happy for me to go back to back i'll be starting soon! If not, I'll be having the frostie put back in about 2 weeks.
I've had a bad few days. I've got sick with some chesty cold thing, but had to walk the dog down at curl curl. DS was running away from me in the dog park and I told him we had to leave because mummy had to get tophysio because he'd broken my back. A lady came up to me and said she'd heard what I said. I explained about my bulging disc from carrying a 16kg 2 year old and thought she was offering sympathy. Instead she turned round and asked me if I thought he'd understand what I was saying and that I would make him feel guilty. I told her no, I didn't think he'd understand. She came back and said "I think they understand more than you think!". I said "whatever, thanks for the advice" and stormed off. I was so upset and just burst into tears and because I have a chest infection, I hyperventilated and couldn't catch my breath, and started to panic. So I'm walking through the dog park like a crazy person, crying and hyperventilating and no-one stopped to see if I was ok. Then I confronted the owner of a dog that ALWAYS goes for my dog every time we see it, and never does anything - even when their dog chased mine and they both knocked in DS at full speed and sent him flying (both dogs are about 40kg each), they just grabbed their dog and walked away.
Anyway, needless to say it was a traumatic walk, and just made me feel like the worst mummy in the world. My lovely Facebook friends assure me I'm not.
Sorry for the big me post

Lindylou: Honey i am with Lola, i refuse to believe its negative until confirmed by a BT. Even though you mentioned the Thaw wasn’t the best you still had a great blastocysts and they say that anything above 70% can generate a viable pregnancy otherwise they wouldn’t bother transferring them. Are you going for the BT tomorrow? A holiday away and a new car sounds fantastic. Enjoy!!!!

Sticky: Oh you have made my day hon. that’s such awesome news; I can’t wait to hear all about it. Hopefully its up and running really soon ready for my FET. I do the pre and post session at the “Acupuncture IVF Clinic” in George Street which is only 2 blocks walk but it would be great if it was in the clinic.

Lola: OMG that’s horrible to hear hon, i can’t believe someone would just stick there nose into your business like that. I run through that park 2 days a week so let me know what she looks like and ill keep my eye open for her and her mut. I hope Dr B lets you go back to back, i have done it before and he said it was fine to do as long as there was zero HCG in your system before starting the next cycle. Fingers crossed your little golden emby that you have been holding onto is the one and you won’t need to do back to back cycles.

Angela: I love your positive approach, planning the next cycle always makes it easier for me to move forward.
