Felicita thanks for your great answer to my question. It is surprising that anyone gets an emby let alone a blasty!!!

Lindy - put down the stick and walk out of the bathroom!!! (good luck though)

Kelly- it is a really tough decision, I always choose the option that I won't regret at the time, it doesnt sound like you are ready to take that step yet to me. I really hope you make a decision you feel happy with

Tthc - Happy Birthday for tomorrow!!! I hope you are spoilt rotten

PUPO girls - I am thinking of you every day cheering you on and commiserating in your torture!

Paddlegirl- yay for 11 eggs. I had a cold at et, and FS said that if I didn't have a temp then it wouldnt affect the implantation.

Afm- I have seen 2 BFP number plates in the last 3 days!! Never seen any before. (I did see a bfn today though) just waiting for my first bt on the 30th then I start syrnel. I always do long down regs (have never had an option of another sort)

    Hi all
Thought I would introduce myself. DH and I have been trying to conceive for five years and finally this year started on our ivf journey. We are going through genea Liverpool and Dr Lok. We are doing ICSI as hubby has lazy sperm. Well we had egg retrieval today and got 8 eggs so hopefully all going well we will do transfer on Monday.

Had anyone in here had much expirience with RPAH Fertility Unit or the Westmead Fertility Clinic? I'm new to IVF and can't afford to get it done at home in Qld so I'm looking at travelling for it.
It seems to me RPAH has a longer waiting list but may be a bit cheaper in the long run, not sure if they will let me get my ultrasounds and blood tests done at home if I can't be in Sydney for the full cycle which could make it hard..
Westmead on the other hand I understand has a shorter waiting list but is a tiny bit more expensive and is going to charge us $800 for admin and freezing for my DHs sperm which is currently stored at Fertility First and we have to organise the transfer (does anyone know roughly how much this costs), they will let us do the ultrasounds and blood tests at home but their OOP.
RPAH we would need at least 4-5 trips to Sydney from QLD, Westmead only 2 I think, specialist appt and the egg retrieval and transfer but will be paying extra for ultrasounds.

It's a bit of a toss up, higher price with less trips and hopefully sooner or less cost with more trips, and a longer wait.

Anyone whos used these clinics, how was the treatment, the staff, the costs? Any hidden extras?
Any help would be extremely greatful.

Katrea...RPAH uses Sivf/Genea Labs, so the technology is good. Waitinglists are insane at RPAH, because they only do a very small amount of patients. I had an appointment there, but choose to go to Genea, because of the waiting.
They are also closed in January, so probably won't see anyone before Febuary. They are more expensive then Westmead, only do long cycles.
WFC are easier to get into and cheaper but I don't know much about them . Successrates are better at RPAH then WFC , but I heard lots of positive stories from WFC.
    Good luck with your decision
