EO- Hooray for AF! I agree, so very typical that she shows on the day of your BT. Used to happen to me all the time with natural TTC, I'd wait, wait, wait til CD 30+ to POAS and then 10 mins after the BFN she would show . Love the train to Duffsville , if only it didn't have to take a detour through Nutsville in the TWW .

Sticky- I know its disappointing when the egg numbers are lower than you'd hoped, but its so important to think quality not quantity here. My EPUs have been relatively low (7 & 6 eggs), but with good fert rates we've had frosties both times. I frequently see on the monthly threads ladies having 12+ eggs at the beginning, but by ET day there's only 1 or 2 good enough to transfer and none to freeze. Chin up darl, all is not lost! You're not likely to see me at Kent St, unless its a weekend or public hol & my regular clinic (Liverpool) is closed. I have been there twice though & its very swish with the big waiting lounge and kitchenette with coffee machine. We don't have that out West!

Bella- sorry to hear of your BFN sweetie . Good on you for getting straight back on the train and joining us in the Oct action. I agree with the others that some prog support is a good idea.

Kelbelle- wow, no major fights in 15 yrs is amazing! You guys must be the perfect match . You are freaking me out with all those 5's , it has be a good sign surely?? Looking forward to hearing your EPU results today, I hope it went well and you're resting up.

Traveler- I had polscope with my first cycle, they use it to locate the spindle of the egg which contains the genetic material, and then when they inject the sperm they make sure the spindle is not damaged in the ICSI process. I had 100% fert, so it certainly didn't do any harm. My 2nd cycle at SIVF was without polscope and I had 50% fert... hmmm interesting! Its great that you've got an extra weapon going into your next cycle, and cycle 5 for TTC #2 is just uncanny!!

Crofty- Yay for moving along to Gonal! Sending good egg growing vibes your way . I've never had the jury duty summons either, but colleagues who've been said its bor-ing. I hope you case was at least a little bit interesting.

Quartz- Third time is still a charm! So exciting that your cycle has started too, bring on the BFP's!

Angela- sorry can't help on the EPU days at WFC. I do hope your E2 levels were great and your ovaries are on their best behaviour. When do you have an US to check the number of follies?

Hi to PinkB, Starf1sh, Nat, Felicita & anyone I've missed

AFM- Going in for 1st BT tomorrow morning (CD 9), but I know nothing will be happening. At least the start of the monitoring feels like something's happening and I'm getting closer to FET

Thanks Lindy...we are hoping for the Best without getting our hopes up, if that makes sense. I just can't see this working at all
You are right it is very nice, but in the end it's only the results that matter.
Good luck with your BT !!!

    R ovary 6 folls smaller than 10mm
    L ovary 8 folls greater than 10mm

Waiting to hear if I will be triggered and is there too many there. Im thinking no fresh transfer? Who knows.

Angela: The number of follicles isn’t the only factor that will tell you if you are going to get OHSS, the main identifier is your Estrogen levels. I had 42 follicle – 25 over 10mm and the rest under 10mm. My Clinic insists on Estrogen being below 10,000 prior to ET, mine was 19,000 AFTER EPU so i definitely Hyperstimulated. Wow that’s a super thick lining. Any idea when they will do EPU given the public holiday?

Kelbelle: How did EPU go yesterday lovely, hope you had a great fert rate – can’t wait to hear the good news .

Lindylou: Ha ha ha yep guess there is no way we can avoid that detour through Nutsville , as long as we all remain in our seats ond no one gets off at that stop we will all be fine. How did your BT go today hon? Hope all is on track .

Starfish: I was stalking you on your other thread and noticed you got AF – Yay yay yay so exciting that you can start everything honey. Keep us posted hon, i am so excited for you.

Loulabelle, PinkB and TTHC: How are our lovely pregnant mummas going?

Looks like we are in for some 5hitty weather this weekend, pitty cause of the long weekend. Have a great weekend ladies .

Angela- you can disregard the follies <10mm, they won't have mature eggs in them. Any that are still <14mm at this point may be too small as well. You usually need to have the dominant follie(s) at ~18mm before you're asked to trigger (growth rate is approx 1mm per day). Awesome lining!! I think you'd stand a good chance of having a fresh transfer, like EO says it will depend on your E2 levels. Fingers crossed for good news when your FN calls

ETA: If all your larger follies are 10-14mm, then you'll just keep stimming til they hit the right size. When you mentioned waiting to be told to trigger, I was assuming you'd have some >16mm already.

EO- waiting to find out my BT results, but at CD 9 I'm sure nothing's happening and I'll go back on Tues. I just hope it doesn't rain after 7pm on Sat, we want to get a fire pit going for my bro's 21st.

    Hey EO
It was my sis who got her AF I am still pill popping until 18th Oct and then when we both get AF we will be officially 'synced'. after this we are off and !!! Still a while to go as EPU won't be till Nov.

Glad yours has finally shown up too!

Traveler, I have used polscope with all my cycles with IVFA. Some of the eggs may not have spindles visualised (however can still fert and grow to blast) which is what tipped FS off egg quality was a problem in our case. That said apparently babies can still be born when it isn't visualised. The scientists have a very small window after collection to see it. Hope it brings you your golden egg.

Lindy, hope the rain hold's off for your brother's 21st!!! I am going to visit my family for a special birthday this weekend too. My nephew's 1st birthday! (sister's DS) Happy Birthday to your bro and my nephew!

to all those cycling and to those who need them.

Have a great long weekend ALL!

    Hi everyone.

I am apologising in advance for this rant:

I went to FN for a BT this am to test hcg levels, just to see if anything had happened at all, even though we clearly knew it would be a BFN. She proceeds to tell me that a BT is really unnecessary as the bleeding is a normal period and we know it's a negative. I politely said that if it's all the same to her I'd go ahead and have the BT as I'd dragged my butt out of bed and driven to 25 mins to the clinic. She then says "Oh I see you have an appt with FS on Tuesday, you probably don't need that, just go ahead with another FET this month."

Erm..........surely FS wants to see us so we can ask questions and see if anything should be different this month, eg progesterone support. I pointed out AF wasn't due until Sunday, she looks at my notes and says oh no you had the hormone surge on 13/9 so AF was right on time. I'm so confused. According to my dates and how long my cycle usually goes for AF shouldn't have shown until at least today, but more likely this weekend. Anyway, she also says progesterone is only a benefit to women who aren't producing enough of their own, which I am (apparently). I was just so irritated....like HELLO - we just paid you $2500 and NOTHING HAPPENED! Of course I want to see my FS to ask questions and have him make adjustments. I don't want to be told to just try the same old same old every month. I know it's only my 2nd month of IVF and I might need to be a bit more patient and give it time...but still!

I should mention that she wasn't narky at all through this, she was very polite and kind but she did try and talk me out of Tuesday's appt, and today's BT for that matter! I really like my FS, but this incident really annoyed me

Anyway, I'm really sorry for that rant but I needed to get it off my chest and poor DH has been hearing about it all morning!

In better news I went to a new acupuncturist this morning and had a better time there. He was wayyyy more thorough and attentive than the guy I saw back in July, so I'm sticking with him. He did suggest stopping IVF for 3 months to allow the acupuncture and herbs a chance to work. I told him I was def going ahead with the FET this month and I'd think about it after that. It's taken me over 3 years to finally get to IVF, the idea of stopping didn't sound too great to me! Are the herbs super expensive??

Sorry for such a huge me post. I hope you are all having a great day and have a fabulous weekend

(And if you're bored at work on this Friday arvo, take a peek at this thread - you've probably heard about it, but still....unbelievable! http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...ver!-Read-this!

Bella - sorry about your experience with the FN. At my previous clinic, if AF arrived before BT they never asked me to come in, however SIVF have. I still think it is your right to talk to FS and I would even mention the FN to him. I had during a previous cycle told FN of high blood pressure, thinking she would tell FS (she didn't) and just told me to see my GP. Not that we believe it affected the cycle outcome, but I did wonder about communication.

AFM - At Mondays scan, I had 15 follies over 10mm, 2 of which were 18mm, so I thought I may lose those. EPU was yesterday and they retrieved 13, 11 of which looked good. Just received a phone call and 10 have fertilised , so I am pleased with the result. Of course, it will mean nothing if it doesn't implant - I always seem to have good embies that don't stick. Hopefully this is the one.

Hi to everyone ...I will need to come back for more personals - very tired and still quite sore

Sticky - I got a grand total of 2 eggs from my first cycle! One is currently trying to climb on my back and saying "beep beep mummy" and the other is a frozen hatching blastocyst! Don't lose hope!

Bella- you should ask all the questions you need and have whatever test you need to reassure you. We pay them enough money - I've certainly got more pushy about asking for extra tests and questioning what I'm being told. You've really got to be your own advocate in this process. However caring they are, it's their job, not their life.

Well I'm having my first scan tomorrow - anyone going to Kent st tomorrow?
Also, can anyone recommend a good Ivf acupuncture person? Preferably on the north shore? My old one is now practicing at bondi junction.

Sorry for the short post - got a horrible migraine and the screen is hurting my eyes!
