    Hi everyone,

I have been MIA for a while, taking a break from the TTC and IVF part of life. Its been nice, putting my energy into some other things like having people over for dinner, going out etc. Weekend before last, DH and I went kayaking and camping with some other people around Kangaroo Valley. It was lovely being out and about (it was that cold weekend though, so I was really rugged up wearing three layers and one of those was a down jacket, around the campsite LOL). We kayaked down the river, camped in a quiet spot, and kayaked a little more the next day. Gorgeous scenery I like being away from "screens" (TV, computer, mobile) for a while

I am hoping to start another cycle in Oct. I go to Perth next week; hopefully AF waits till I come back (on 3/10) so i can get the meds (FS has suggested another stim cycle) when AF comes.

Been trying to read the previous posts to catch up with what everyone has been up to, but probbaly not too successful! so wont try to do proper personals

Starfish congrats on your 5th anniv, and woot woot Tetsuya's!! Amazing food... yum!

Angelanathan and traveller, I am thinking of trying acupuncture too (have meant to for ages, really need to get organised and call them. What with IVF appts, scans etc, there seem to be so many appts to attend ... I'd be interested to hear your experiences...

Nat, wedding planning is fun! You sound so organised! Did you decide on the wedding car hummer? I didnt pay for a car myself, as a friend offered her partner's and I only had one bridesmaid. But I spent quite a lot (proportionally) on wedding photography - about $3000. However I think it was worth every cent! I love the photos our photographer took! I figure everyone getting married picks the things they want to spend more on, and then spends less on the other stuff, and everyone has different priorities.

    Bella, congrats on being PUPO!

Good luck to the girls cycling - Quartz, Angelanathan Starf1sh, Crofty Lola77, and Kelbelle

    Hi to everyone else

Livy u r so right! The BH app is heaps easier to use than the Internet site on my phone!!

Starfish- thanks you so much for your reply. You really helped make my decision and put my mind to rest. Am going ahead with our final stim cycle and if it doesn't work then we will try Livy lui.

Paddlegirl- welcome back. If all goes to plan we may be cycling at a similar time.

Will come back later and post properly...just wanted to use my new app

Sydney ladies...how glorious was the weather today!

Paddlegirl...glad you have been enjoying your IVF break. It's nice to take some time for yourself.

Starfish...good luck for your upcoming ED cycle. November will be here before you know it.

Eternal Optimist...loving your new quote! Also the idea of our cycles "syncing". Hoping your UTI clears up quickly. I have heard about the laughing after ET - I had intended to see Bridesmaids at the movies after my ET - but that didn't happen due to all my spleen tests and the cycle being delayed. Is it out on DVD already...or do you have a copy you shouldn't?

Lindylou... sounds like to had a great weekend, I just love the harbour. I was working around Balmain/Rozelle today, and had lunch down by the wharf overlooking the harbour. If I lived down that way, I would stare out the window all the time - no housework! Wow the bridgeclimb has gone up in price! I think it may have been $150 when I did it a few years ago.

Bella...hope you are surviving the TWW and not going too crazy.

Quartz...it's probably way too late for an answer, but I had BT and US on day 10 with a medicated FET. Hoping that allows you time away

AFM...I have my first US and another BT on Friday. My blood pressure has gone crazy again since starting the hormones so I'm back on increased tablets. And the BP tablets are making my hair fall out and thin again.Luckily I have thick hair normally so it hasn't really been noticed yet. I am becoming quite tired so resting up in the evenings and going to bed early. Hubby has been sent to Brisbane for work, so am feeling quite lonely at night. We are going away this weekend down to Batemans Bay and Mogo Zoo with a group of friends and their 4 kids. I am disappointed that he is wanted back in Brisbane next week too...EPU week more than likely. His work knows we are doing IVF so nothing has been confirmed yet. Not good timing as he will probably miss ET too.

    to all

Keleblle: Oh hon it sucks that those extra meds are giving you those side affects, as if we don’t have enough to worry about. My husband has a rotating roster so is away for 1-2 weeks at a time and has only made 1 of my ET’s, we have been very lucky that he has been there for the collection as he has always needed to have a TESA. Its great you are taking it nice and easy, the meds usually make me tired as well so i always make sure i have nothing planned when cycling so i am in bed 8.30pm most nights . Yep we got a sneaky copy of bridesmaids, we actually got it around a month ago s outs been so hard not to watch it after i have heard so many good reviews. Can’t wait to hear the good news about all your lovely follies growing away .

TTHC: So glad to hear everything is going so well – i sneakily checked your due thread and seen all the good news about your NT scan – so happy for you honey .

Traveler: Sounds like you have made a very good choice with the cycle hon and in the mean time i have everything crossed you get your natural BFP and won’t need to do the cycle after all .

Paddlegirl: Welcome back hon, so glad to hear you have enjoyed your time out. I think we all go through a stage where we need to take a step back from it all for a while. Wow camping and kayaking in the Kangaroo Valley at this time of year would of been a little chilly, looks like you will be joining us all in the next busy month of cycling. We have done a lot of acupuncture and from everything i have read the absolute best time with lots of research to back up their conclusions is an hour prior to transfer and an hour straight after transfer. I find it can get very expensive if you are doing it regularly like they want you too. There is a great clinic in the City (I go to the same one as Starfish) and they work very closely with the IVF clinics and are specialist in IVF Acupuncture, highly recommend them.

Starfish: So glad to hear other ladies feel the same as my about DTD and cycling, i thought i was the only one that abstained like that and tortured DH . Oh hon, sorry to hear your delayed a little longer, but like you said what’s an extra few weeks after all this time. Happy anniversary hon, it’s definitely the month for it, we celebrated ours 2 weeks ago (3 years) and went to Aria. I have always wanted to go to Tesuyas, i bet it was amazing.

Lindylou: Any sign of AF yet hon? I am CD 32 and still absolutely nothing. Today is when i thought she would come, so now i have absolutely no idea when she will show up. Did you and DH have another session yesterday hon? How did it go?

Bella: How is the TWW, you must be very close to BT by now?

Crofty & Lola: How is your jabbing going ladies?

AFM: UTI has finally gone and i have my whole stash of antibiotics ready for pre transfer, very happy about getting them (The more i think about how i often i get UTI’s the happier i am about using them prior to by ET to ensure there is nothing happening in that area that could jeopardise implantation). Still no sign of AF for me, i am CD 32 and like i mentioned to Lindylou, i thought she was due today but now i would have no idea when she will show. I reckon it will be in the next week, i have never had a cycle longer than 35 days before (except for after my MC) and i do have to keep in mind that i had OHSS last month so I am just trying to relax waiting for her, its not too bad, the extra waiting doesn’t bother me too much at all surprisingly .

Traveler- your friend sure was lucky! In my opinion, there's no way those chinese herbs worked within 3 weeks. The alternative therapies work by healing us from the inside out, and it takes time for this to happen via cell regeneration, more like 3 months. I think her BFP is one of those cases where just by doing something different, it changed her perspective to one of absolute positivity and bam, she conceived! A good example of the power of a 'fertile mind'. You have nothing to lose by trying, so I say go for it, but hopefully you'll be UTD next cycle and won't have to . Glad you're having fun with the BH app .

Angela- nice to see you back! Very happy for you that the synarel was kind and you got AF on time. Good luck with your jabbing!

EO- oh you guys were just 'banking' a few then hey . I would so love to go to Aria, was it awesome there? I'm kinda put off by super fancy restaurants because I went to Rockpool a few years ago and was very disappointed. The plates were huge and the food was tiny. I was still hungry after their special 6 or 7 course banquet. Luckily it was a work dinner & they paid, I would never spend so much of my own money for so little food! DH & I were supposed to have our 2nd session yesterday (thanks for remembering), but he couldn't finish work early enough AGAIN, so its been bumped to Mon. Glad you're loving the BH app too . My AF started today . I'll keep Starf1sh's AF dance going for you

Starf1sh- Happy anniversary! What a perfect way to celebrate your last without a bub! Tetsuyas, WOW hope it was as good as they're reputed to be. Thanks for your AF dance, it worked a treat, CD 1 today!

Paddlegirl- sounds like you had a lovely time out from IVF. Is your username Paddlegirl because you're into kayaking, or is that just a coincidence? Have a great time in Perth!

TTHC- Congrats on your awesome scan results! Must have been a huge relief to know you have two perfect healthy bubbas.

Kelbelle- good luck for US tomorrow, can't wait to hear how many follies you have! Your weekend plans sounds wonderful, hope you have a great time. My Nan did bridgeclimb 10 yrs ago and it was $100 then, so it seems to go up $10+ a year. Must be to cover their public liability insurance .

Hi to Nat, PinkB, Crofty and anyone I've missed

AFM- AF is here, WOO-HOO! I'm going in for a BT on 30/9 and think I should be PUPO around the 11th Oct

    Hi all

I had an exciting day today, got pulled over by the cops for the first time. Was out for a drive with my Nanna, going up to Wentworth Falls Lake to feed the ducks and was taking many back roads for the views, instead of just using the highway. We were pulled over near Kings Tableland. The poor copper looked embarrassed for doing his job when he saw that he'd suspected a frail 87 year old of going to start a bushfire.

    Hi all,
Just a super quick one as I'm knackered from our mothers group 2nd birthday.

I've been on lucrin for a week or so and have picked up my FSH and just waiting forAF. So from memory, in my past cycles, when AF arrives I start FSH the next day. Well AF came at lunchtime and I phoned Sydney Ivf. The nurse (not one of mine) told me to continue with lucrin and start the FSH next Friday, as this was my doctors prefferred day to start cycles. Errrr WTF! Since when did you start stimming on day 6! And since when was my cycle governed by doctors convenience? Isn't that why I pay the big bucks? I questioned all of this and she told me to ring back tomorrow to speak to my nurse. Am so confused. Can anyone else confirmed when they start stimming on a long down reg cycle?

    Hi lola77

That's a bit rough especially when one of SIVF's selling points is that they do egg collection 7 days a week so you don't need to adjust your stim to fit your doctor's schedule.

But as for day 6 vs day 2 to start the stims, once you're down-regged you can stay that way forever, so any start day is as good as any other. I can't confirm what day I started stimming since my last down reg was over 2 years ago, but the reason I didn't do antagonist that time was so that we could delay the start of my stim to (hopefully and successfully) get egg collection on the one day of the week that DH's andrologist was available for testicular microdissection.
