Default My only embryo didnt thaw :-(

Hi ladies, Well i was supposed to have a FET today but on my way into the hospital i got the call saying my embryo didnt survive the thaw. Im absolutely devastated. Not only because it didnt thaw, but because it was an A grade 5 day blastocyst. The reason why im saying this is because the embryo that we used last year that i got pregnant with was only a 3 day embryo which apparently wasnt looking good but they transferred it anyway . Why would a poor looking embryo get me pregnant and an A grade one not thaw WTF???

Anyway im seeing my FS tomorrow and im telling her i want clomid again ( i ovulated on it 3 times but never got pregnant so another mystery that nobody can answer). Ive been having accupuncture and the chinese doctor thinks it could happen naturally i just need to give my body time after stopping breastfeeding what do you all think? I really dont want to wait, appart from that i never got a period anyway so i wouldnt know where to start.

Oh Gracie, sending big hugs It really sucks when you lose a precious embryo to thawing. We too lost a grade A blastocyst. It is so upsetting. Take care and good luck

I know exactly how you feel.
We were on the way to the hospital for transfer too and got that dreaded call to say neither of our remaining embry's survived the thaw.

Sydney IVF is one of the best clinics so I think it's just one of those things. It's the luck of the draw.

Our very first cycle all 4 eggs where of the highest grade, 1 fresh transfer failed then we were successful with a frozen transfer then the last 2 doidn't make it. Terribly unfair sometimes. Second egg collection we only ended up with 2 embryo's and fresh transfer worked first time.

Just a thought though, when was your embryo frozen? Ours were frozen in April 2008 and since then (unsure what date exactly) the procedure of freezing has changed and the success rate is higher due to the new method so may be worth checking with your clinic.
Blessed with 2, hoping for 3. Back on the IVF train.
    April 2007 - 11 eggs collected, 4 emby's, Fresh transfer BFN
    August 2007 - FET BFP.
    April 2010 - 2 remaining embies didn't thaw,
    July 2010 - 7 eggs collected, 2 emby's. Fresh transfer BFP

Sept 2012 - remaining emby didn't survive the thaw
Lucky last cycle early April before we get off this train once & for all
