Hi Twinkley seems we will be on this journey together, I am not ready to start yet but have my first appointment at the clinic on Thursday, good luck with everything.

Glad to have found this thread, I am sure the tips will be very useful once I get started with all this and will try and remember to concentrate on the things I CAN control.

Hi @Heyside cool we can be IVF buddies. I had appointment yesterday for bloods for CD20 and not quiet where need to be for starting so back next Monday for another BT and should start sniffing away then on the Synarel which have heard not most pleasant but bearable.

So true best to concentrate on what you can control and leave the rest to the IVF gods. I've got first acupuncture appointment on Monday 28th. It's supposed to help with IVF has anyone else tried it?

Good luck on Thursday for your appointment let me know how it goes.

I'm sure this thread will be very helpful for us first timers.

Twinkley its great to see a familiar face (name) around here, would be great if we get to be cycle buddies but have a feeling I will have to wait a while to get started . I think the cycle my clinic uses involves the synarel too so you will have to let me know how it goes, hope the BT shows good results on Monday and you can get started.

    Hi Twinkley and Heyside,
I have used Synarel and had no issues with it whatsoever. The only thing you might get is a slight taste but I barely noticed it. Pop a mint if you find it tastes bad. If you have used nasal sprays when having a cold, it's no different. So Synarel is the least of your worries. Hope that puts your minds at ease 😊
    Good luck with you cycles!

Twinkley and Heyside.... I also never had any problems with Synarel. Part of the trick is that it says to angle the tip to the outer edge of the nostril - this is so the medicine runs along the inside and gets absorbed by the skin - if you squirt it straight up the nostril then you end up breathing it in (this happened a couple of times when I got the angle wrong) and on those occasions it did "taste" funny (but it only last a minute or two, and then you learn to angle it towards the outer edge better next time!!)

Hi everyone! I thought I'd introduce myself. I've been told by our FS that my husband and I will have to undergo IVF. My husband has had a vasectomy reversal so far without any luck.

As far as we know that is our only issue but I am yet to go for our my first blood tests and ultrasound. Our other option is to to try a second reversal, but the FS seems to think it's a waste of time.

It all seems very daunting at this stage. But I'm so glad to have found this post and to hear from women who have either been through it all before or who are sharing the first stages of their journey.

Sending positive thoughts to everyone for success in whatever stage you are!!

Emily... welcome, but sorry you've had to join us. The good news for you is that there are three further ways to get that sperm out, if your DH's vasectomy reversal doesn't work - fine needle aspiration, biopsy and micro-dissection (mTESE). These have really good success rates in cases like yours, then IVF/ICSI seems to work quite nicely. Good luck :-)
