Default Anyone gone by themselves for the FET??

    Hi Ladies,
Im hoping to have my FET next friday. Im having a scan to check lining on wednesday and if all is good i will have FET friday. Just wondering if anybody actually went by themself (without DH or partner being there?). Its just my husband cannot get time off. I dont want the IVF ppl thinking my husband isnt supportive etc. Also do you have to lie down for a while after the FET? because i got hospital admission forms where as when i had a d3 transfer last time it as in the drs rooms then i just got up and went home

    Hey
I have had 2 transfers where my husband hasnt been able to make it! My mum came to the last one. I dont think the staff at your clinic would judge you for this and so they shouldnt. Im due for another transfer next Tuesday and I will probably go alone as My DH just cant have afford to have anymore time off work! i dont think its too much of a biggie!!

    Good Luck

I went to two transfers on my own, dh just couldn't be there.

After my FET's they just get me to lay there for 5 minutes, never had an admission for transfer.

    Good luck

Hey GG, thanks for the reassurance, my DH had a heap of time off for our first stim cycle so i think i will just go by myself. I mean i just went in last time and it was all over in like 5 minutes!!!.

You should be fine to go on your own - there are a lot of people at my clinic who turn up on their own and i know i never think anything of it.

At my clinic you don't rest for any time after transfer. Just get up and go on with business like usual. I always think that's strange but hey it must work!!

Good luck - hope you get every success.

I did every transfer on my own, I had no desire for DH to be there. And my clinic doesn't believe in 'lie down time' afterwards either, they say there is no evidence that that helps.

Started IVF April 2009, 6 embryo transfers with 1 BFP - lost at 6 weeks. August 2010 - miracle whilst on a break from IVF!

gracieanne, I've only done a fresh transfer so far but I went on my own. i don't feel the need for DH to be there. In fact he only came to the EPU because the needed him there in case the frozen sample we had didn't defrost and they needed to do another biopsy otherwise i would have told him not to be there either (and he had to drive). I did all the appointments on my own except the ones the clinic said he must attend. There are so many reasons a partner couldnt attend I dont think anyone at the clinics would be judging.

We dont 'rest' after transfer either! My FS just said "do what you normally do...it wont fall out" and off I went!

I went for 2 FETs by myself as DH had some "importnant" meeting ..... whats more important then a FET ! LOL

I was really annoyed with him because of it.... I felt really alone .....

    Good Luck !

My DH insists to come to every single time but TBH I think its better to go on your own. Its a better mindset. At my new clinic its a 5 second job no lay down after so its up and go. For the next one (hoping there isnt a next one) I am going to go alone.
    Just to try something different
UNLESS DH insists he wants to be there then that wouldnt be fair if I say NO....
