Riteo... I am 23 years old I have a nearly 5 year old boy. I am pregnant, have been wanting another child for a long time. According to the date of my first missed period I am 10 weeks 1 day.. But it is 8 weeks 2 days since conception. I went for an ultrasound 2 days ago and I got told that my sac looked 5 weeks old, this meaning my baby had been gone almost 5 weeks. This did not make sense.I did a urine test a week ago that was positive. If it was gone 5 weeks wouldn't it be negative? I saw a specialist yesterday, and told him I wanted to make sure that there was nothing there before I had a curet. I had a scan 5 weeks ago with the specialist who told me i was roughly 5 weeks along if that cos of the size of the sac.. When I went yesterday he told me that it had grown significantly since he last looked at it. He said that my pregnancy could be failing but hasn't yet, or it is ectopic (growing in my fallopian tube) or i could have my dates wrong, or *i am late to show* And for me not to lose hope. He sent me for a blood test and it revealed that I had a high level of hormone present.. that of someone around 6 weeks pregnant. I am confused at what this could all mean.. If it was ectopic couldnt they tell with the ultrasound? Could my sac just be smaller than average? Or could I be *just late to show* does it really matter if hormone is low?? Because with my healthy 5 year old boy, I couldnt detect hcg in my urine or blood until I was 16 weeks I went for an ultrasound when I would have been 8 weeks and there was NOTHING there no sac or anything then after a positive blood test 2 months later I had an ultrasound that confirmed I was 16 weeks!!!! Has anyone ever been in this situation? What was the results for you I have another blood test tomorrow to see if the hcg levels have gone up or down, But for now I am just wondering if I could hold on to some hope? And, why oh why am I so different, Am I strange?? Please tell me on not alone LOL Thanks![]()

Iam sure that this is a very stressful time for you. Has the Dr considered testing your hcg level every second day to monitor if it is rising. Even if it is low, it should at least indicate if it is rising. Is it possible that you ovualted later than you think you did?
