There does not appear to be any 'intent to return' condition in this .... so you should be able to sell it CGT free for up to 6 years

Yes, we have just over a year until our 6 year time frame runs out, so have to decide if it is worth our time to sell, or hold onto it and and pay CGT in the future
WOW Thanks for all your input. KatiesMum and Pina Colada you have really hit home on renting costs and from this information I believe we simply can't afford anything to go wrong, whether that is major maintenance (though shouldn't be for a new property) or lapsing tenants.
We looked in DHA but unfortunately our suburbs is one of the places exclusively listed as not wanted. Properly due to lack of transport and distance from city.
