Default am i the only one???

    hello

ive been reading a number of posts and it got me thinking,

am i the only mother on here that:

lets my 2yo eat chips and fried food occasonally, doesnt use mcn's, im happy to give panadol for a teething or fever an not try natural methods, i let my child get all her imunisations with out spending hours researching the internet, i trust medical opinion on whats best after all they went to med school for all those years (not me).

im ok with feeding my infant 'canned/store bought baby food'

I actually enjoy the days at the hospital following the birth of my child where i can get to bond with my baby before going home to be flat out on my feet.

No you're not the only one on here like that.

I let my 10 month old have a hot chip now and then, and bites of icecreams, and sometimes milk arraroot biscuits. Most of the time he eats whatever I do. I eat very healthy, so when I have the occassional treat I have no problem giving him some too.

    I dont' use MCN's.

I do use panadol when necessary, but I do try to avoid it.

I immunize on schedule. I am very well researched in vaccination for animals, but not so much for humans. I'm happy to go along with professional recommendation.

I have no issues with giving him pre-packaged purees, though I do carefully check the ingredients list and make sure there's no nasties in there, and also always taste it before giving it to him.

I'd prefer to go straight home after giving birth, but only because I'm more comfortable at home. Not because I'm in any rush to get "back into it". I'm a big fan of relaxing.

I am most definitely no super mum.

Hmm. I'll put my hand up ... I've immunized because I was sure they knew what they were talking about when they said it's best. I use disposable nappies. I give panadol when I think he needs it and dont have any natural alternatives.

I'm weaning DS with home-made purees but wouldn be opposed to using jars if we were going away etc. Not sure about the hot chips yet! I'll tell you when we get there!

But yep, I think we are all good mummies too!

Nope, I'm a almost the same. I did do loads of research on vaxxing and then decided to go ahead with it. Also I spent 4 days in hospital after bub was born and loved it (admittedly I was in a private room so that might have helped). I made most of DDs food from scratch but did have pre-prepared food on hand for those times when we were out and about or were a bit late getting home.

This thread gets done so often lol.

No, you aren't the only one. I did a lot of that with my first son but with this time I am making a few changes (using MCNs etc) and my god I am looking forward to hospital someone else to clean and cook!

Well I'm the opposite of everything you just wrote, but does that make either of us less of a mother than the other? NO. If we all has the same parenting style we'd all have the same type of children and well, that'd get a bit boring wouldn't it! Stay true to yourself and do what YOU think is best for YOUR child and I will do the same

I don't feed jar food only because I'm too cheap to spend the $30 a week on them.

I left hospital straight away because I hate them and sleep better at home.My girls are older and they helped DH with housework and stuff.

My older girls are allowed soft drink occasionally,we ate a bag of cheese chips after dinner last night. My 5 month old was licking my ice cream cone. She is munching on a milk coffee biscuit as I'm typing

I use sposies because I'm too lazy to wash(I hate washing anyway)

I didn't research immunisation until I fell pregnant with DD3.

And first sign of pain I give all kids panadol.

I was thinking the same thing and also wondering how long it will take until someone takes offence if they do things differently to the OP.

I dont see it as being offensive to anyones parenting style. Everyone does what is right for their family and no particular style is right or wrong. I do hope the thread doesnt turn nasty.
