If you *must* buy packaged snacks, don't buy bags that have bags inside! You will pay so much more than if you were to buy one large bag/packet. If you want portioned bags, then simply put portions into ziplock bags or small containers. This goes for things like sultanas (I really can't believe people buy those little boxes), Shapes, chips, eetc.

We buy big packet or two of sultanas from Coles for less than that and divide them into small containters.

How nice of u to take the time to do this.
I feel really really sad that there are families that would use this.
When we were struggling we ate a lot of pasta. Fresh veg are fairly cheap compared to packaged foods. In wa we have the spud shed which sells meat veg fruit dairy bread and other thingsvery cheap!

Sausages are cheap. My mum used to make a yummy curried
sausages with onion tomatoe sauce and curry powder
chop up the sausages n brown in the pan with onion
then mix ya curry powder, sauce , salt, pepper and a cpl tsp cornflour and a cup or so of water then stir in till it thicken
and serve with mashed spuds, yum

That curried sausage recipe sounds really nice and easy, I think I have all the ingredients too apart from cornflour, might try it.

A very basic version of chilli con carne...

    Tin chopped tomatoes.
    500g mince.
    Chopped capsicum
    Can red kidney bins
    1 chopped brown onion
    Sprinkle chilli powder
    Oil

Cook onion and capsicum in oil. Chuck in mince. Brown. Add tin tomatoes and beans and chilli powder (use as much or as little as you want).

    Serve with rice/over a baked potato/with crusty bread/nothing.
