Hi Bron, I have just reactivated my Fb acc and it is Mystie McAdam if you would like to add me to the group. I would love to catch up. How about a nice park somewhere so the boys can run around? Any day suits me apart from Thursday when the boys are in daycare. My email address is mystiemcadam76@bigpond.com. Can't wait to talk soon, Mystie

    Hey girls.

We recently moved up from Adelaide and are looking for somewhere to live. We are considering Rocky but I've heard it's 'dodgy'?! I don't really know.. We are temporarily staying with friends in Yeppoon but hubby hates the commute to work.

Have seen there are some nice houses in Gracemere. How far is it from Rocky and what's it like there? I'd love to meet up with some of you

    Default Hi lilmumma83 and spideysmummy

    Hi Ladies
Gracemere does have lots of new houses. Just be choosy where you pick a house because some of the areas are nicer than others. Even some streets with nice-ish houses are turning into neighbourhood slums. Also, if you like your piece and quiet then I dont think Gracemere is for you. The houses are getting piled in on top of one another so you can hear the next door neighbours talking inside their house. Not to say the least. LOL. And the amount of dogs is irritating. Dont live on a main road (eg Lucas St) because of all the construction the trucks going up and down these streets make it very loud.
We have a private Playgroup on FB and we meet up once a week when we can. If you want to look me up I can then add you to the Playgroup.. There is also Gracemere Mums site.
    Cheers Bronwyn Macchia

    Hi Ladies,
Like Bron Says there are some dodgie parts and dodgie people. We're in a good street, with lots of families and no shortage of kids out playing with my kids. Look for the side streets not main Roads like Lilly Pilly Rd or Lucas St.

Renee I also have 2 older kids next month they'll be 8 & 10 and a little bub 16 months (All boys) and we moved our family of 5 from NZ in Jan - it is difficult and takes a while to adjust but you're doing the right thing by hooking up with groups. All the Mum's here are not from here and all miss their own home towns and family and friends so we're ALL in the same boat. Just give it time, keep in the front of your mind 'WHY' you're doing it and stay positive. Hope to meet you both soon.
Also try the Funky Monkeys playgroup on Fridays on Barry St at the Community Hall 9.30
    Cheers Melissa

    Hey lilmumma83 and spideysmummy

I agree with Bron on what she says about Gracemere. It's getting very crowded! We rented there for 6 months in the Gracemere Heights estate, before deciding where we wanted to buy, and we decided Gracemere wasn't for us. Although we made some good friends there, we didn't like living there. There are soooo many dogs, which is so annoying. It was so noisy. And some of the areas around that estate are quite dodgy....A lot of the streets in the Gracemere heights estate, all the houses look the same. we moved into a new house and the finish was shocking. They are built so fast because demand is high, and it reflects on the quality. So many things went wrong with the house, so choose your house carefully! And we didn't like the drive into town every day. Traffic is quite bad first thing in the morning and sometimes it would take DF or I (if we had swimming first thing) 45 mins to get into town.

in January, we moved to The Range area on the Southside of Rocky, and we LOVE it here. Can't recommend it enough. Close enough to everything too. Most of the houses are old Queenslander houses and they are just stunning.
