I also have a thyroid issue and had three miscarriages. I started Chinese fertility herbs and Japanese acupuncture at Ondol Oriental Medicine in Brisbane.

My daughter is now almost 2 and a half

Best of luck with it all. Japanese acupuncture is much more gentle - I found it very relaxing as well.

    Hi Leighr,

I have been having irregular periods and trouble knowing when to TRY and conceive from that so I started going to a chinese herbalist 3 months ago.
Still hasnt got my periods back to normal but I have heard it can take a few months..

I started acupuncture 2 weeks ago..had 2 sessions with a guy who specialises in fertility so fingers crossed. It does hurt for maybe 2 seconds while e moves the needle around and only on spots i have less fat.. like top of feet and hands. but its all worth it if I get a BFP afterwards

My sister actually had the same problem I did and saw a chinese herbalist and only took her 1month on the herbs to get her cycle going and was preg soon after that!! So def give it a go I say..

    Goodluck!

I'd been trying for a year and then had a m/c and was a bit devastated. Within two month of going to Chinese acupuncturist (both acupuncture and drinking the stinky herbs) I fell pregnant again. Even before I fell pregnant I was really happy to be going - it felt like I was actually doing something to help both my body recover from the miscarriage and my mind start to become positive again as I was taking positive action. (I was feeling a bit lost, helpless and having a pity party before that).

It has been an amazing sensation to feel like someone is taking care of you. I had spotting early on and my acupuncturist said to race in and see her - my dr said "sorry, you'll just have to wait at home for another m/c". Which is not to disparage Western medicine, it just shows the different approach. With the Chinese medicine I feel that I as a person am being stabilised so that I can carry a baby - so its about making me good wholly so that I'm a good carrier. It's also freaking lovely to have 45 minutes every fortnight where I get to lie down and rest - its my only time to myself that I get!

Am now 28 weeks and on the countdown to a happy and healthy baby soon!

    All the best.
