    Default Male-friendly baby shower?

I'm having a unisex baby shower, BBQ in the park with lots of kids and no cutesy games! Has anyone done this before? How did it go?

I'm thinking of doing a piñata just for fun, having a BBQ and snacks, and just relaxing and enjoying each others company.

I'm adding a line saying "partners and children welcome and encouraged" how does that sound to you?

I think calling it a baby celebration rather than a baby shower would suit better (less girly) for that scenario .

Personally not into the baby shower thing (as in to have one myself) but love the idea of a whole family celebration, I think it's a lovely idea.

Good luck with the planning E&S are lucky to have a mum like you who celebrates every milestone in style and with love!

we had this and we loved it!

My thoughts were i was not big on the girlie games etc. I wanted to celebrate with all my friends and family. Much to my mums horror we called it a ''Baby BBQ''

I figured that dh was just as much a part of this, so why cant he be involved. We all just had a bbq with decorations all around, a cake and just a list for guesses of the sex and dob.

Dh loved it and it was just a nice relaxed day. the sitting drinking tea and having games that are awkward and been done a thousand times before was just not me.

    have fun!

We did it! We had a "non baby shower" - only 1 game (nappy pin game so no silliness required!!) and just had lunch in the park and the kids played and everyone just hung out and had a great afternoon

We did this We didn't even do any games. We just had a big BBQ with lots of food and music and drinks (obviously not for me ). It was lovely weather because I was pregnant over summer so we spent the day outside in the sunshine. It was fun, but a lot of work and I was exhausted by the end of the day. So this time I'm having a blessingway and letting everyone else do everything for me

I'd rather have a mind opened by wonder than one closed by belief

Wow I wasn't aware that baby showers are a female-only event Mine had both males and females, with all of the games etc. It was great
