My clinic don't do BTs at all (apart from the pregnancy test), so I'm no help sorry. My first clinic did, but that was so long ago now.

Sariele: Do you think you might try #2 soon? What's the policy of your clinic to keep your donor for #2? PM if you wish. I am just curious to know about QFG process (assume this is where you went with). Our sydney clinic requires us to pay a hefty deposit to secure enough vials of the same donor for future #2. This is only if one selects an US donor. We aren't worrying about this right now since we need #1 first!

determinedone: I hope you are feeling better now. It is hard. It took us quite some time to find a donor. In the end, we have to compromise (unfortunately) but I would be very grateful to have this baby no matter what.

Such beautiful news to hear about the HB @MGC Bertie so happy for you guys. Keep us posted!
@bbhope you have started injections?! Good luck on the cycle - I have a great feeling about this for you.

I have started testing my fertile days with ovulation kit and once it gets to high I'll start going in for daily BT. Once they pinpoint OV we count five days from there at go in for FET. Predicting FER will be around the 27th.

Welcome to all the new girls - please share your stories and ask any questions. It's been amazing to have this thread and these girls. Has definitely saved me.

JenniwithanI: Yes, i started the injections on CD3 rather than CD2 because sydney clinic closes early and couldn't get the result over the weekend. Anyway, i am not sure where I am at as I haven't done the first scan. A bit nervous because I was a slow responder last time, didn't have many follicles. So ya, it could have been my poor quality eggs that wasted DH precious sperms. Well, I tried not to look back because I can't change it and it is what it is.

First scan on Monday. I am flying out to sydney on Tuesday early morning and fitting in the intralipid infusion with a different Dr and clinic. It needs to be done 7--10 days before ET. I hope the EPU will fall on thurs or fri as planned. They told me that in the worst case scenario, I will have to go in for EPU on Wed. No, i don't want that because DH won't get there until Wed night. And the following Monday is Australia day which no one will work in the lab for ET (of course, this is assumed we get that far!).

It sounded like you are a week or two ahead of me at the moment. Hope we both get that magical BFP. But for now, I just want to get through to planned EPU date.

@bbhope I'm not a QFG patient, I'm actually with Life Fertility. No idea when we'll be going for #2... we would have liked to have started a while ago now, but living in England we're a long way away from our frosties and sperm, so we don't know how we're going to work it yet. It's expensive to ship embies and sperm between clinics in the same city, let alone interstate or overseas, so not sure what we're going to do. As for the sperm, I actually got a phone call from the lab director during my pregnancy. She apologised profusely for having to bring it up when I hadn't even had my first baby yet, but she said that she was doing an order of new sperm, and they'd run out of our donor, and he's stopped donating so there was none left in America either. However, she'd found 10 remaining vials somewhere in Canada and asked me if we wanted a couple of them shipped over and held in storage for us. We very gratefully accepted! She also told us that because we only have two vials, next time I stim they will only use half of each vial per cycle, so we potentially have four more full stim cycles left with that donor, as well as the three frosties we already have, and any frosties we MAY get from potential stims. I'm desperately hoping we will get one more baby from all that, but if we don't, I think we might call it a day, as it just won't seem like it's meant to be. I'd rather not think about it, but with my terrible cycle history, there's a good chance things could turn out like that. I mean it took 5 full stim cycles to get DS..

    Hi girls,

I have a personal question to ask - have any of your DH's who have had the MTESE had side effects of the mTESE? For example, needed testosterone injections or found that something had changed with one of the testes maybe scar issue, hernia, ascended or appears smaller? My DH has started to worry about this lately. It's been almost three months now since the mTESE.

@bbhope Don't think like that about your eggs - you really can't. I have learnt looking back is not going to help its all about what's ahead. What is an intralipid infusion??

DrG wanted DH to do a hormone test 3 months afterward. Dr doesn't think it will affect his hormone level since the sample he took out is quite small. Any surgery would cause scar tissue. If he is worried, perhaps get a scrotum ultrasound done. Just to make sure blood flow is still OK.

@JenniwithanI: after my first chemical, i went through all the testing on auto-immune problem, NK cell etc to rule it out. I am seeing DrM on the side in sydney. The same immune doctor Bertie is seeing. My FS is very open minded about it all. A lot of FS don't believe in it so i have heard a lot of back fire comments from some other ladies when they brought it up to their FS.

My ANA came back above normal and NK cell BT and biopsy reveal borderline activity (high end of the normal range). To throw everything in for my last embie, I did intralipid infusion on top of the standard steroid and clexane injection therapy. Intralipid is a soy bean, milk product which the immune doctor claims to calm the NK cell activity so my immune system won't overeact and attack the embie, which it sees it as foreign object. There is a big debate about its effectiveness and some FS don't believe in the use of intralipid. I don't know what to think of it because there isn't enough data point to prove it one way or the other. I know three cases personally. One lady didn't get a BFP until she did the intralipid! She just gave birth few months ago. The second lady had have many miscarriages and only keeps on her pregnancy after the intralipid. The third lady didn't do intralipid. She has high NK cell activity (higher value than me). Clexane and steroid alone keeps her pregnancy on the first go. Obviously, embie needs to be viable in order for these to work. So I don't think my last embie is a fair go as we know that the quality is in question.

I was tossing up to do intralipid or not. It is a huge commitment. One has to do it every few weeks until way past first trimester. Because it isn't scientifically proven, medicare doesn't give rebate. It is $650 per infusion with DrM. He charges premium because he can. QLD and Melbourne people are only paying $200, i reckon. Since there is a dr who just started doing it in perth, I decided that I'll give it another go. After i've spent so much effort into this cycle, another $650 is nothing if it works!

I just asked my DH he reckons his might be a bit bigger! Other than that no other difference. He has his testosterone testing last Friday actually so should get the results this week. The dr said he should get it tested once a year but this is the first time he has done it
