Two Souls - good luck for next week!

And yes, you can use the same donor for siblings. Once you have a successful pregnancy you are marked down as one of that donor's families, and you get access to the sperm again in future.

I'm glad to hear that donor worked out for you guys and that your husband feels so connected. That was one of the worries we had. Your story has reassured us that we are making the right decision and in the end everything will work out ok.

Just one question I'm not sure what clinic you are going through or the situation but are using the same donor for #2? Is that a possibility when using donor sperm?
yes we're using the same donor. We were asked if we wanted some set aside for another child and have paid storage for it . The clinic said they contacted the donor and he said that even if the straws we have stored aren't enough he'll give us some more.

Hi MCG Bertie, thanks so much for your post and your advice, sorry it's taken me a while to reply I've just been flat out at work! We've decided to stick with Dr G for now, and I'm seeing dr perrson. We have seen so many specialists over the years (including a guy in New York who pioneered micro-dissection and has a this amazing microscope that no one else has, so gets amazing results). We have had every test under the sun, many times over, so at this point I just want to get going! Ultimately what swayed us is that Dr G is a urologist and we have seen him and liked him. Plus all the comments on this thread!

The only test DH hadn't had before was inhibin B, which he got done last week. We went for an appointment with dr perrson yesterday and were due to see dr g on Friday to start putting dates in the diary, but the results of inhibin b weren't back so dr p sent us away again! Bit frustrating as I am dying to get going after 4.5 years if waiting and researching, but I guess a couple more weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things!! I'm travelling next week for work but will hopefully get to see them week after.

So exciting MCG and twosouls that you're cycling around the same time! Please let us know how everything goes, I'll be keeping everything crossed for you guys

Ginios.... yes, I've read about that amazing micro-scope! I actually remembered to ask Dr Lok about it and he said no he didn't have one, but when we went to Dr G I forgot to specifically ask. Did he mention anything similar to you that he uses?

Will be interesting to see what your Inhibin B results turn out like. I feel like I could write a paper on this!!

Yes, I started jabbing last night (or rather, DH did the jabbing on me!) so I know the next two weeks will go really quick!! Thanks for your thoughts.

    Default Azoospermia

    Hey guys

MGC how are you going? How's the injections been?

So far for us things are ok sort of. Went for the first ultrasound today 8 days after starting gonal f. Had 12 follicles with varying size from 5 mm to 12 mm. At this stage unless they grow a lot between now and Wednesday they might need to cancel the surgery and epu. I hope that doesn't happen. Just have to wait and see. After I had a blood test take. On Friday I had to go back and get a pregnol shot on Saturday and now I have to go back again tomorrow. Has anyone had this happen to them??

TwoSouls.... hmmm, I really just don't know what to say, except that I have to have an extra BT on Wed, when I was supposed to be having a BT + ultrasound on Thursday. I suspect that my levels aren't right either, otherwise why would they call me in for an extra bloodtest. I've been on Gonal F 300 dosage this time. I'm driving DH mad with all the "what ifs" - what if the injections are working properly, what if the syranel isn't doing what it's supposed to, what am I doing that's different, and the biggie, how come I don't feel any different, no soreness, nothing. But I've decided not to worry and just be busy between now and Wed, as it's all out of my control, and what happen, happens. I do hope that your body gets busy in the next two days, and that they don't have to cancel it. I will be devastated for you, as we're so close together in what we're doing. Fingers and toes crossed here for you :-))

Thanks I hope they go ahead with it. I wonder if they cancel the surgery will they still get my eggs and freeze them? Ill have to ask tomorrow if I speak to someone. They changed my synerol after Fridays blood test too 3 times a day...and tonight my gonal is reduced from 200 till 150 so I'm not sure what will happen....

TwoSouls.... Prof I said that if they don't find any sperm in DG, then they will cancel my cycle, as freezing eggs isn't very viable (as opposed to freezing sperm and freezing embryos, both of which have fairly OK thawing rates, but not eggs). I asked what would my body do with all the follicles and eggs if they're not collected, and he said it's fine, they just get expelled like on a normal AF when just one is released. He drew me a picture, which kind of explained it better - I like doctors who draw pictures for me :-)) It's like they can tell that all the technical stuff is getting too much!!

Yes, I've heard some people are on Syranel up to four sprays a day, so I guess that 3 is not unusual. In my first cycle they reduced my Gonal F dosage when my follicles were growing too quick, when they wanted to lengthen the cycle a bit more, so maybe all it means is that it's still another couple of days off, rather than them going to cancel it. Yah!!
