Thanks all! We couldn't be happier and are settling in at home.

Sorry but i am being lazy and just copied my birth announcement from my Due in thread. But thought you might like to know some details!

    Members Name: Thee
    Babys Name: Caitlyn Rose
    Sex:
    Female
    Date of Birth: 20-10-2010
    EDD: 08-10-2010
    Time of Birth: 9:35pm
    Bubs Weight: 3820g (8lb 7oz)
    Bubs Length: 52cm
    Bubs Head Circumference: 35cm
    Details of birth:
Well after the panic of my high blood pressure and subsequent orders to rest, i was sure our little girl would be early!! But this little one was so comfy and had no plans to come out. My blood pressure remained steady until 11-10 when i had another rise. The dr made the decision to induce me on Wed 13-10. We were expecting to have our little girl by the Friday so mum and dad booked flights to come down.
Yet again, bubba had other ideas. They had to induce me using a gel which was meant to dilate my cervix, they would then break my waters and give me a drug to bring on contractions. I had 2 lots of the gel on wed, stayed in hospital wed night, had another dose on thurs, stayed in the hosp thurs night and the plan was to break my waters on the fri morn. Unfortunately, that couldn't be done so we were sent away for the weekend and told to call back Monday. Monday we called the hospital but they couldn't fit us in till Tues. Tues we went in and had another dose of the gel. I had to stay in hospital again tues night and was reviewed wed morn. There was still no progress so the consulting dr's had to start considering the options.
Their theory was that there must be reason why things weren't happening naturally and it was getting to the point that a decision of action really had to be made.
Their recommendation was that i should have a c-section. So we were booked in to have the c-section at 11:30am (it was about 10am at this stage). But after one delay after another (and having eaten nothing but a biscuit since 5pm the night before!!), i wasn't taken down to theatre till 9pm Wed night. It was very nerve wracking and not at all how i expected to deliver our baby. It was rather unnerving for DH too as he had to watch me being wheeled into theatre and wait for another 30mins before he was allowed in. Once DH was in, it was a matter of minutes before our beautiful girl was delivered, with a very hearty cry! She was well and truly comfy in there as they still had to use forceps to get her out! The ob told me that i would never have delivered her naturally as her head was too big!
DH and bub went to get checked out and weighed while i was sewn up and taken to recovery. By the time i was taken back out to Recovery, DH and Caitlyn were waiting for me and the midwives were able to help me breastfeed straight away. She was a natural!

We're very proud and she has us totally wrapped around her fingers. We can't stop staring at her!

We are all going well and came home from hospital yesterday. Breastfeeding is proving a little painful but i am trying to perservere (sp?) as i know it will be for the best.

Addison - don't stress over not having told people. Apart from family and a few close friends I made my public official announcement at 17weeks. Even then I was nervous. I was showing but didn't socialise much.
Tell people when you are ready and comfortable.
Good luck with your scan. Everything will be perfect. Do you plan on finding out the sex??

Thee - our bubs are almost identical in more things other than birthday. My little man was 8lb8oz or 3850gm and 52cm in length and head 35.5cm. Glad everything is going well. I hear you on the pain from breastfeeding. I just remember to breath and relax cos if I tense up it only makes it worse.

Lots of newbies here now. Not sure if someone wants to start a new thread and copy and past the first post from this thread and take over the list from me??

I best be off and get some sleep while the little guy sleeps. I'm sure as soon as I dose off he will be wide awake ready to feed.

wow lots of action in here!

ok let's have a look back a bit:

fireflies- glad to hear you are trying to sleep while bubby does- very very wise. I remember those firts few weeks and being on a 2 hour cycle of sleep, eat, bed etc. it is relentless- but it does pass, quite quickly too. hope you are geting support from family and friends.

thee- the above goes for you too!!! hope caitlyn is playing ball and being good to her mummy. how is recovery coming along? I had a c-section with DD and felt about 80% after about 5-6 days. thanks for the birth story. sounds like it all went sensibly in the end.

    Hi Una!

Em- I found the steriliser to be a lot easier than boiling various bottle parts. it was an avent one- it was great. hwo many weeks/days until you finish work?

lealove- congrats, and I hope this ride is nice and smooth and uneventful for you. smooth sailing for you

Addison- wow 20 weeks!!! I am 24 now so you are close behind. I also felt apprehensive before the 20 weeks scan, as others have said though following this and with the kicks, you do tend to relax a bit more. plus, you tell people in your own pace. DF has dragged his feet on this- there are a few 'friends' that he hasnt even told. men.

    hi grinny's wife

that's as far as i can see back here.

hi to everyone else reading!! Shadow- how are you?

afm- had a huge past few days- hobart show, then a kid's birthday party on sat and then hosted a baby shower on sunday. man was I p00ped and felt it too. really took it too fast, must try to slow down. also in the last week we're making plans to swap rooms around to prepare for upcoming baby. this has involved choosing carpet (didnt know there were so many shades of brown) and so forth- so many to choose from, and this is just the type, let alone the colour.

curreently am 24 weeks and have felt a few braxton hicks like last time. they aren't much fun. got next appt on nov 10 and then hospital phone booking appt on nov 15. got the diabetes challenge thing coming up in a coupla weeks too. YUK! and pretty soon i'm in the 3rd trimester. talk about C R A Z Y!!

Thanks everyone - Yeah I will tell most people after this 20 week scan really!!! And I went to the Dr yesterday about a rash that I have, and whilst there I politely asked him to check the heartbeat...it was very cool to hear it and now has made me less nervous for Friday and more excited!!!

Sniper - Sounds like a full on weekend indeed!! Fun though good luck with the carpet.

Fireflies - I am not really sure that I could do a good job keeping the front page up to date!!! I do hope someone takes over for you though, you have enough to do now with your little man. Sleep while baby sleeps. Must remind myself of that,I am hopeless at sleep during the day though, and I need everything to be clean, neat, tidy and in its home before I can rest in my house. DH thinks this will go right out the door next year. Well, he hopes so anyway.

Thee - What a story, thanks for sharing it. Glad it all turned out well in the end...look what you have to show for it.

Addison I will rest or nap in the afternoon when bubs is asleep. In the morning I get the house tidy and do what small jobs need doing. As long as they are kept up to date it's ok. Only thing I've been slack at is the stack of washing I have to put away lol. DF can't even do it as he would put all my clothes in the wrong draws.

We had a really good night last night with bubs sleeping. I had a block of 1.5hours from when I went to bed and he woke then a 4.5hour block. Loved it!! I feel really good today. Gotta try and get to bed at the last feed instead of hours later and then he is ready for the next feed.

Going to pick dd up by myself with J from school. Shall be interesting. He is due for a feed about 2pm and I have to leave no later than 2:40pm. Luckily if I am ever running late mum is only 5mins from school so can help me out.

Well better run DF is cooking some kebabs for lunch and I think he is finished.

Belly rubs to everyone still pregnant

Hi ladies!! Ok will try to remember sone personals (I have the memory of a fish tho so I do apologise!)

ff & thee- glad to hear all is going well with your little ones!!!! Hope BFing gets easier for you both!!

Lealove- welcome back!! FX for everything healthy in the next 8 months!!

Rosily- welcome! Again I wish you the best journey possible!!!

Addison- best of luck with your morph scan! Every scan I'd nerve wracking so you aren't alone! I went public at 16 weeks but really only became comfortable talking openly about being pg after 20 weeks!!

Em- I am yet to pack my bags but will probably start next week! There is a list on here somewhere that will guide but I also got one from the hospital! Also a thread in our due in area! I'm fairly clueless aswell as I don't want to OVER pack!!

Afm- I'm nearly 33 weeks along!! Going well! Finish work on Friday! Am soo excited!! Can't believe it is here!! Bubs us moving all the time so no worries there tho have a growth scan on Monday night!!!

Sorry it's so rushed- just a bit crazy busy At the moment!!!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Sorry having trouble keeping up I am so often it is horrible. Just got to keep thinking of the end result.

I have made a booking to see my ob next weeks so they said they will do a quick scan to check on bubs but I am fully expecting that it may be too early. I will be just over 6 weeks and I have never had a scan that early.

Congrats Thee and Fireflies on the arrival of your babies.

    Grinny
She had a chromosomal problem (t 18). My 12 weeks scan/bloods came back at high risk and when we went for the amnio she had already passed away. It was a shock as for some reason I convinced myself she would be ok and then to find no heartbeat was just devastating. Telling my DS was the hardest as he was so excited. So this time I am going to hold off as long as possible before I tell anyone so he doesn't know anything in case this one doesn't make it.

Lealove think I remember you from the waiting ttc thread as well. Congrats hope this bub is nice and sticky for you. You certainly deserve it after everything that has happend for you this year.

    to everyone else.

Thanks guys for the welcome back! I haven't looked at this thread since the last m/c, just use to make me so upset. Really nice to be back and see that all is going well.... Even some bubbas!! Beautiful news ladies, massive congratulations. So who is next?

Congrats on your BFP Rosily! Brilliant that your feeling sick... What every woman wants the following preg after a m/c. I have felt a bit off colour but nothing so exciting as chucking up. When are you due?

Em - I took some of your advice on board last time, chinese medicine man was great. Fingers crossed its third time lucky for me!

    Hello to everyone else

So today I gave myself my first Clexane injection, the thought of it was way worse than the actual process, stung a bit but would endure it for life if it means I get a bub at the end of it. I also saw my OB and my initial HCG levels are great, one thing down so many more to go... I have to just take it one day at a time and enjoy this pregnancy as it comes

First off congrats to Thee and fireflies!

I am 8 weeks today and my first scan is tomorrow. Booked it early in the morning so my fiance can come too, fingers crossed for a little heartbeat but I cant help but feel pessimistic. just over 24 hours and I will know either way!

Have been feeling terrible these last few days, not M/S but have a throat/chest infection of some kind, makes sleeping hard when I cant take anything! Used some betadine gargle this morning then freaked out when I read not for use in pregnancy but Ive done some research and they all say once is okay. Just hoping the little bit I accidentally swallowed doesnt do any damage! Have to head to the chemist today and see what I can take, I hate being sick!
