    Default i think i had my " show "

im almost 37 weeks and this is my second baby but i had a planned induction with my first so i feel like im new at all this. Yesterday morning i went to the toilet and had thick blood like stuff, i went to the hospital and they put me on monitors but said no contractions have started and baby is fine so they sent me home. Everytime i go to the toilet and " wipe " i have stringy, thick, browny greay type mucus stuff. i googled and read that " the show" can come away over a few days but contractions may not start for a while.

yesterday the nurse said it sounds to bloody for the " show " that its more like mucus with strings of blood, which is what im having now so im guessing it is my " show "

has anyone had this before??? because like i said this feels all new to me.

Yeah, when my waters broke it felt sticky, I went to the bathroom and there was some of the show, though there wasn't alot for me, but it did look like that I finished my show just before he came out.

    Default show

It doesnt sound like a show. When I had mine with my first child my contractions started straight away. It was like a big glob of yellowy mucus with a pink bloody tinge. You cant miss it unless it comes away in the shower. After the show comes away there isnt usually any bleeding. Hope this helps. Good luck

Sounds like your cervix and maybe starting to dilate - or at least thinning and effacing and you are losing some mucus. You will definately know if and when you have show cos it'll likely be more bloody and if you do lose the plug itself (probably when you are more dilated) you can't mistake it! With my first, I had a similar kind of mucus to what you are describing for several days prior to full labour starting and I was having other pre-labour signs as well for some days. Brown, gloopy, thick mucus! When I was in active labour and I had started to feel the head so I guess I was probably fully dilated, I lost the plug - and as I said, it was unmistakable and you will definately know if this happens. With my second I had what my MW said was a 'show' which was quite a lot of bright red blood - this is early on in the labour before contractions got intense. The rest of the plug was actually sitting on the end of the bag of waters which actually came out before the head (didn't break so the plug was actually quite visiable and looked like it was sitting on the end of an inflated balloon!).

So - what you're experiencing is definately a good sign!!! Good luck!

Yep, sounds pretty normal to me - but don't assume that you're going to go into labour immediately or anything I got my show 3 weeks before I went into labour. Of course, you may go into labour tonight! But you may not

    Good luck
