Default 22 month old, temp and bright red hot arms?

hes warm all over and i think hes badly teething, but ive never seen his arms like this, very pink/red hot arms looks like sunburn but its not. his cheeks are bright red, so thats why i think hes teething but could he have some kind of virus? when would i take him to hosp he hasnt seemed himself today, and has had a temp on and off today and yesterday. i just gave him more panadol but he fought me on it, and then threw up a bit, hes in his bed now, with a bottle of water, and took his pj's off has a singlet and nappy on and a sheet. i feel really worried. when should i check on him.

just adding, i dont have a themometer, so dont exactly know how high his temp is, but i can tell when he has one. his forehead is extremely warm.

I know Scarlett fever gives a sunburn type rash and you get swollen glands in your neck and also a sore throat.

Mmmm i would possibly take bub for a check at the hospital or an after hours clinic.

You could call 13 HEALTH and ask them.

Here is some info on Scarlett fever, my kids havent had it bub a friends bub did not long ago

Hi, I will quote what I have posted to another mother earlier today. Her situation was a tad different, but it might help anyway.

This is a very low-grade fever and if she seems ok otherwise (like you said with eating, drinking and toileting) then there is absolutely no reason to do anything.

Low grade fevers are an immune response designed to kill off an illness before it gets hold, so giving her neurofen or panadol now will halt the fever, yes, but will also likely mean that the illness then will be able to take hold and the fever originally that might have taken 24 hours to get over will then take 4 or so days.
Would be a good idea to always have a good reliable thermometer in the house, but it doesn't always serve you well.

If you can, bring him to bed or into your room with you. It would help both him and you to be near, because you can check on him throughout the night and if he needs you, it will mean he won't have to put much effort into waking you.

If you feel he does need it, most definitely take him somewhere to be seen to.

But if he is drinking like normal and is wetting okay too, I wouldn't be too worried. Just keep him near you so that you are able to monitor him through the night.

Sorry, i didnt mean to make you stress

Me, i would take him...coz i am a worry wart. and bub is only little so cant tell you what is wrong. If it was my older kids i can ask them whats wrong then access what i should do, but with little ones i worry.

But call 13 health first, they do a triage over the phone and tell you what they think you should do and if you should take bub to have a check.

i only have text credit so i cant call anywhere dp is at work for another hour, but i can text my SIL to call his work and get him to come home so i can take him to hosp. i dont often worry like this but to me something isnt right.

he seems very lethargic, breathing heavy, and looks drowsy

and bright red and hot all over doesnt seem good

hes been fighting a temp for 2 days, panadol helps for a bit and it comes back. i just thought it was teething.

    Go with your mummy instinct

Its usually right, and if bub is lethargic and not 'right' you should text your SIL.
