Question Does Your Child Learn Something Then Stop??

Well my son is 13months, and at 11 months he was trying to whistle (upon being encouraged) and he finally learnt but then stopped, and no longer does it.

This has happened about a few things and I was wondering if they just dont bother after they have achieved that to add to part of their developmental learning or what?? (Like I've learnt that now I'm over it, teach me something new.....)

He is a very healthy smart little boy, but certain things he just wont do...not too concerned just wondering if anyone elses children have done this??

It use to be sooo cute to see him trying to whistle, and although he is still cute, wish he still done stuff like that, that he was taught to do...IYKWIM

Yep my DD did the same. She started to count to three then when she finally did it..she didnt want to do it anymore. Annoyed the heck outta me because I wanted to show everyone what she could do. I think they just get bored of it after a while & want to learn something new. Maybe if you try again in a few weeks when he has forgotten about it, he might do it again.

DD could count all the way to 20 at 2 years old. But so stopped doing it and now struggles to make it to 10.

Yep this happens all the time !
He took his first steps at 12mths then waited until he was 14mths to do so properly.
Same with talking he used to say plenty of words & now everything is either baby or meow lol ! He is slowly starting to use different words again but boy it felt like one step forward two steps back.
