Default Anyone interested in doing weight gain journeys?

I'll break in this new section

So I thought I'd try to gain some weight - even though it's gonna be one hell of a battle. So if anyone wants to join in, feel free.

I'm gonna do monthly weigh ins since doing it weekly would be useless for me, as I need longer to see a change. Any one has tips, throw them in.

    Here's a starter:

    Name - Airsupply7
    Starting Weight - 52kg
    Goal Weight - 60kg

So... hopefully we get some people in here with ideas and support and see what we can do.

i'm hoping to get allergy testing done soonish (story) so hopefully once i get my diet sorted to what my body can use effectively it'll stop attacking foreign food and using what i'm giving it. this is my hope. i don't know how useful a tip that is but that's my 2c.

we can all get to 60kg at some point.

    Well, here is my story:

Pre-DS, my weight would fluctuate between 57kg and 60kg, and 60kg was perfect for me. Then after I had him it literally fell off and kept falling. I was scared to get on the scales because I looked like skin and bones in the mirror There was a time a few months ago when I looked really, really thin and even my best friends started commenting (they normally don't, but said they were concerned).

I visited my Dad down South and my step-mum actually asked if I was eating That insinuation peeves me off the most - I LOVE my food and I eat a lot of it. It got to a point where I was worried to go to the toilet/bathroom after dinner in case my step-mum thought I was purging And I could watch people's eyes on me while I was eating dinner, which was really disconcerting. Ironically, it made eating unenjoyable whereas I usually love it. Anyway, everyone around me now knows that I am having issues putting weight on and keeping it on and it's good to have their support instead of their judgement.

A few people have given me tips for weight gain so far - eat large, eat frequently, eat full fat everything. I do all of the above and i'm looking forward to other tips

Has anyone tried weight gain shakes?

I'll join - i'm not looking to gain a huge amount (at this stage) just add a few more kgs (small steps )

    Name: MothersMilk
    Start weight: 49kgs
    Goal weight: 55kgs

My story: I have always hovered around the 48-50kg mark. I gained 20kgs with DD1 but it fell off after the birth (without any effort from me). With DD2 i gained about 12kgs and it came off slower but still i lost all the weight (bub is 5 months atm). My shape is different so i don't cope as much criticism - my belly, boobs and thighs are more rounded so i don't 'look' as thin as i used to even though i am the same weight.
I eat lots but it never seems to do anything and the weight drops fast if i am sick or don't eat as much for whatever reason.
Bellini - I have also avoided going to toilet after a meal for fear people will think i'm purging (ironically i am afraid of vomit and the idea of making myself sick is like my worst nightmare yukko) I have been followed into the bathroom to see if i'm being sick also - talk about demoralising

    How's the serenity?

Oh wow MM, followed into the bathroom! I'm speechless at that.

mpeg, yeah I've only been trying for like ever lol, and nothing but hopefully we can find out some tips and share and all get the weight on.

Bellini, I've not tried weight gain shakes even though I reckon they could help out, as milk and I do not agree with each other. I can only have milk it small doses. I looked into protein powders and such that you mixed in with water but they were like, 80 dollars, and I wasn't able to afford it at the time. I plan on looking again.

    Okay, my story -
I remember as a kid, that I weighed 28kg for what seemed like forever. I just couldn't put on weight. My mum was worried and even put me on this tonic to encourage my appetite. It was the most foul tasting thing I've ever had and I can still remember the taste. Thankfully, the only thing that got rid of the taste was food so it worked I guess. Throughout high school I was about 40kg and very self conscious about it. I had girls assume I had EDs, which I didn't. It didn't help that these girls saw me eating whatever I wanted for lunch and never gaining anything. Some spread rumours about me, thankfully at the time, I had an amazing best friend who risked all her own friendships defending me. It actually made me depressed listening to these rumours and in my head I thought, 'well at least if I had anorexia then there'd be a real reason for this'.

When I fell pregnant with DD1 I was about 48kg. While pregnant I continued to eat as I liked, and from the back no one could tell I was pregnant. I got up to 67kg with her and I was so happy to see that on the scales. I gave birth to her at 7 in the morning, four hours later I was back to 50kg. Had trouble convincing other women on the ward I had actually had a baby. Same deal with DD2, except it took 2 days for me to go back to normal.

I'm the same, if I get sick, I quickly lose weight but to gain it I have to eat steadily more over a longer period to even get an extra 2kg.

I really just hate that I've always been able to see the bottom of my ribs poking out.

So hopefully, I can get to 60kg and go from there.

Hi ladies I'll join you all
Currently, I am around 55kg, 6 weeks post pregnancy. I went into my last pregnancy weighing 65kg!
Last time I was this weight, I was 16. At that stage I was binge eating when I could as my ex used to make comments to me about watching what I eat, he would limit what I did eat and would often make me walk long distances. I was size 7 and skinny as, and that was my natural weight at that point, despite my ex controlling what I ate.
I then had the implanon inserted and in 6 months went up to 60kgs when I had it removed and I stayed at that weight. Then I left my ex and started dating DF. I then got pregnant with DD1 and after giving birth to her I hovered around 62-65kg.
Became pregnant with DD2, and weighed 55kg the day after giving birth. Haven't put on any weight since, despite eating really well, full fat foods.
I'm finding it hard to eat though, I have no appetite. I am actually forcing myself to eat. If I didn't my body would be happy with one big main meal a day. Instead I'm having 2 big meals a day with a smaller meal for breakfast and snacks in between.
I'd love to be 60 again, thats my ideal weight.

I'm fitting in size 7 pants currently, I want to fit into my size 9 jeans again without the bum sagging and them falling off without a belt.

Yep, it was admitted to me later after it was decided i wasn't bulimic (i didn't know i was being followed until then - it was a group at work ). I hate that they were all discussing my weight behind my back and monitoring me This was a long time ago now but i'll never forget.

Today i went to storytime with my DD's and thought i'd grab some snacks and water from the shops across from the library before we went in. I had my 2 yr old in the pram and DD2 in my mei tai (baby carrier). This is the convo between check out chick and me.

Her: Aww, i like your carrier, is it comfy?
    Me: Yep, i love it
    Her: How old is bub?
    Me: 5 months
Her: Really?? *pause* shocked look (i think she is surprised because DD2 is a huge baby and looks older but then...)
Her: But you are sooo skinny
    Me: yeah *awkward smile*

Story of my life - not sure how i am meant to react to such comments?

    How's the serenity?
