    Default Spots on face?

    Hi there!

DD is 5 weeks old today, and she's still got the pimply, red spots all over her face...

Now, I'm not TOO concerned - was told it's all normal and to be expected, from the hormones leftover from pregnancy and birth.

But I have no idea how long I should be expecting these spots to stay? I expected it to be clearing up by now.

    Thanks

My DD still had them at that age. I think they were totally gone by 7 or 8 weeks.

It might be milk spots Not sure what you can do about them but both mine had milk spots early on. In fact i don't really know what they are, just that they are pretty normal!

Do milk spots come from formula as well as BM? She's fully formula fed... Do milk spots go away on their own?

I don't mind that they're there, she's still absolutely perfect to me! I just don't want it to be unhealthy, or if it needs cream then I'd like to know obviously lol.

Yep Both mine got them while being formula fed, and they did go away on their own. I was a bit more gentle when they were around wiping faces, just so I didn't inflame them, but we didn't do much else and they disappeared completely around 10-12 weeks or so.

Awesome! Yep, I've just been washing her face with warm water and a facewasher in the shower, and make sure I wipe up any milk-dribble right away

It's so hard knowing what's normal and what's not sometimes!

Ohh I know. I remember with DS thinking ohhh no he's got my bad skin.... until someone told me what they were! I was terrified the poor kid would be starting out pimply from birth! But they have gorgeous skin now (although I have a new concern, DS' face is starting to get a bit 'rough' feeling around where he'd sprout facial hair)

My DS got quite bad baby acne. In the end we got some hydrocortisone cream to get rid of the inflamation because it was almost like teenage acne.

I think it went away at around 12 weeks (but he had a very bad case!)

DD is 4 weeks and still has them. It is normal. DS had them till about 8 weeks from memory. Ask your pead or dr when your bub has the 6 week check up. I am sure it's ok
